Who knew I'd become so smitten w/these GIRLS? (Thread/pics)

My son bought our BD, Smaug, on Saturday, and by today, Tuesday, I already adore the little lizard! :love5:

He usually goes to sleep in his "cave", but he seemed restless last night. I turned off his lights and put him in his cave, but he kept coming out and eyeing me up. I decided to scoop him up and take him with me into the living room and hold him while I sat on the sofa and watched TV. I partially covered him with one hand, and he flattened himself against me and fell asleep. So cute! Of course, if I moved, he woke up, but when I got up and put him into his cave, he stayed there and slept until morning.

Here are some pics!

Smauggie is doing well! Of course, I have some new pics!

I came home from work on May 22nd to find this:

Someone was a little cranky in her tank. She was dark and giving me "the look". The one that said, "If only I could smite ...."

I took her out and put her on the sofa, and she instantly lightened up.

"That's more like it, human."

And just another Saturday night in our house ....

Dragons to the left .... Cats to the right ... Shouldn't I be stuck in the middle?? Luckily, I had a bit of room on the other side of Saint's leg. (But not much.)
I had put her in the middle of the pillow, but she adjusted herself to there. She likes being on uneven surfaces.

Haha Bilbo is the same, except he throws himself at the glass until I let him out, they are not so stupid!

I haven't posted in awhile, but, rest assured, Smauggie is doing just fine!

I went to the reptile show in Baton Rouge last weekend, but they didn't have much. I was considering a sand boa, but there wasn't many to choose from and the cheapest was $75. I have been out-of-work for the last few weeks, soooo ... Sand boa is on hold, for now. Apparently Repticon New Orleans isn't coming this month; they normally have it in Chalmette (not actually in New Orleans) but it seems there's an issue with renting the building. :(

On to the important stuff: PICS!

She was on his chest but decided to scoot up & be beard-to-beard.

Just another day here. A dragon and a cat sharing a window ledge and discussing the weather.

More pics!

Not sure HOW this is comfy ... But she's falling a sleep like that. Silly girl!

Of course, she's not opposed to having an entire bed to herself either:

She made a year in April (roughly, because she was not purchased through a breeder, so I don't have an exact date of birth).

She is beautiful! And such a personality!

Thank you!

We were looking forward to adopting a beardie, but we had no idea just how much personality they had until we took her home. It's been a pleasant surprise, and we are considering other reptiles, as well. Just fine with me, because I've always liked reptiles.

Today, Smauggie went to the vet for her annual check-up, but I also wanted her to go because I had noticed some orange tint in her poop yesterday. According to the vet, the orange could just be the greens - somehow the greens can cause the orange color. :?: As far as the lumpy things in the orange, he looked at it under a microscope and said that it's not part of the urate, and that he thinks she may have ingested some foreign material. I explained that she is NOT on sand, and that we only let her out with supervision. Best guess: it may be the packing material that the Phoenix worms come in, which isn't harmful.

The vet did say that Smauggie looks good and healthy, all 515 grams of her, and that he didn't feel any sort of abnormalities in her abdomen. Besides the sample from yesterday, she kindly provided them with a fresher sample while we waited in the exam room, and he tested that, too, and there are no parasites. (We were there over 2 hours, and that's not including the travel time, soooo .... Not her fault.)

So glad my little dragon baby got a healthy report! :love5:

On the way there, Smauggie was quite comfy in the passenger's seat:

By the time we got her back home and put her in her tank to warm up (over 3 hours after we had first left the house), she might not have been as happy:

Hopefully, she eats like normal tomorrow. When she went for her first check-up last year, she went on an eating strike for days.

That is all great news, I can vouch for some veggies given the irate an orange tint, I gave Bilbo some okra and that gave him Orange urate, of course so can low calcium levels. You can tell a lot from a beardies poop. Glad all is well

Not much to report, except this ....

Smauggie attacks Stormwind Castle (from World of Warcraft). Okay, I just kinda positioned her there, but she looked quite content. =)

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
