Where'd you get your beardies name?

and last but not least this is Pebbles! yes i know i have seven dragons..and yes they are all caged separately. i have a dedicated herp room.

When I was growing up, a lot of the pets I had weren't named by me. The only one I remember naming was a kitten named Neopolian (after the three flavored ice cream sammich!) My Bonz had been pre-named, as well as my Cash. Mom named Boomer and Oscar.

Then, when I met Austin, he said that some of the animals of his family had the tendancy to name themselves. For example- Mew and lazy Bob. Other names were either pulled out of thin air, or based off a smiliar resemblence to something. Chester- drawn from a hat. Gimli- named after the dwarf on Lord of the Rings. Bock was named because his eyes were the color of Austin's parents' favorite beer: Amberbock.

Then we started getting our own pets. Picasso got his name from his coloring. Wolf got his name from the American Gladiator that acted all big and bad but really was all bark and no bite. Then we got Frankenfish, who was named because of Frankenstien's Monster. Austin wanted to name him Monster but I suggested the name Frankenfish after the sci-fi channel's movie of the monster fish. The best of both worlds, I guess.

Then we got Squirrel. When we first got her, we had no idea what to name her. When we put her in her mesh, open-air terrarium, she would climb around and around on the sides, much like a squirrel on a tree trunk. Then there was her coloring- red/orange/tan on top and cream on the underside. Between those two reasons, the name Squirrel stuck.

So now we have Squirrel, Frankenfish and Piccasso.

beardiebandit Wow, your new babies AND your older guys are absolutely beautiful! Right now me and my boyfriend have 6 reptiles, all will be in a 40 gallon breeder by the time we move in together. haha. So we're going to HAVE to rent a 2 bedroom for reptiles! I CAN'T WAIT! ahhaa. They bring me so much happiness, it'll be worth the extra money to keep them all with me!

But Atreyu is especially stunning! I reallly love his colors!

thank you! the only reason im getting these dragons is because Shaun had sold me one of his dragons when he was down sizing his collection and i sent him an update pic of his old dragon and then he informed me that he was going to have to leave the country and he didnt want to worry about letting any of his family take care of his last three dragons.

sooo when he saw how big his old dragon had gotten in my care he cut me a deal on his last three remaining dragons because he knew i could take good care of them. i told him to hang on to them until he absolutely had to send them before he leaves that way he can enjoy them for a little while longer. but he will be shipping them to me on Monday! im so excited. im building a new custom viv this weekend!

i think im going to try and take a vacation day on tuesday so i can spend the day setting up their tanks and making sure they are all set up...hmmmm. i wonder how my boss will take me telling him that i need a day off to spend time with my lizards! lol! that prolly wont fly to well.

My Beardie's name is King Gheedorah. This is the mythical 3 headed dragon that fights Godzilla in the movies. We call him KG for short.

Oh wow, that would just break my heart to leave them! About how old are they? If my boyfriend will tolerate it I would probably end up with 7 dragons as well. haha. Every single one of them is just so different. I just can't get enough of them. And some of the beautiful colors that they end up with are just awesome.

If you don't mind if I ask, how old are you? Being 21 I don't make near enough money to own any more reptiles as much as I want to. haha. I got the mammals to take care of too....3 dogs and 2 cats. haha.

Congrats though on the new dragons! I can't wait to see new pictures!

im only 24. the only thing that gets pricey is feeders but im starting a dubia colony and i think that will fix that problem. im picking up 5k crix today after work! lol!

But yeah feeders do get ridiculous. I want to learn how to breed superworms because they go nuts for those. But it's probably pretty hard. haha.

I just have this horrible phobia of roaches, ever since i was little. I would just be so afraid some would escape and have a ton of babies and I would get infested. UGH. You have no idea, that is like my worst nightmare. Although everything else about them sounds perfect (not as dirty, not noisy). I read one guy on here only cleans out his bins like....twice a year. That's awesome.

I'm sure for the love of my beardies that I will probably have to face my fear and breed them....but not anything soon. Maybe when I have the 7 like you I will just have to. haha.

And that's the first time I dressed Dave up. He was very...not happy with me. So I don't know if we'lll be doing that again. But it was funny at the time....haha

Off to work again...where there is no internet....ahhhh.

He is a rescue lizard with his left hand missing.
Dexter is because he is not (ambi)dexter(ous) ^_^

will be getting Dexter a sister shortly so will be needing to think of another name!
