When do i upgrade tank size?

My little beardie is 10 inches right now and is in a 20 gallon tank. I was wondering when i should switch to a 55 gallon?

As soon as possible. There is no reason to get a smaller tank for certain ages, and 20 gallons is too small for a beardie that size.
also, I personally suggest getting a bigger tank than that, but 55 is an ok size. I personally suggest at least a 75 gallon tank, with 4'x'2'x2' being a great size.
