After I build his/her new enclosure. Going to brave the nasty Texas weather tomorrow to drive an hour to the Lowe's to get all the materials. Also going to try my hand at diy hides and stuff while I'm at it. I'm hoping by next month or a little earlier, depending on how things go. LOL You can never tell with me and power tools, and the fact that my hubby likes to take over my projects. smh

Gah, I can't wait!

That is so exciting!!! Good luck with building the enclosure! :D

Hello,

Wow, Narley has really grown now. He looks great! :D Terrific job with him.
Pushkin looks wonderful also.

Tracie

Thank you!!! :D I love them both - they are so different from each other and so full of personality! I really need to get some better photos soon and post an update! :)

I just moved to a new house! Pushkin and Narley seem to like it so far. There are stairs to climb and large window sills to bask on!
Both are doing well enough, but they do know how to worry me. Pushkin is still barely eating, and Narley is still rarely going to the bathroom. Pushkin runs around like a madman, whereas Narley will sleep all day if you let him. Look at these comparison photos! Narley is bigger than Pushkin now!

And sadly, Pushkin still hates Narley - he made this beard yesterday when he caught a glimpse of Narley through an open door!

Decided to take Pushkin to the vet today because his appetite never came back after brumating. He will literally eat maybe a cricket every 3 days. Maybe one or two leaves a day. Basically nothing.
Yet somehow he is still fat and hyperactive.
The vet thought he looked so healthy and he weighed in at 530 grams - this after 5 months of barely eating. I wonder how much he weighed at his peak!
Anyways, he got a b12 IV and some Critical Care feed that I'm going to give him to try to jumpstart his appetite a bit. Hope it works!

530 is still a pretty good weight. I hope you're able to get him back to his usual self quickly =)

Hi everyone! Just updating with some new photos! Pushkin is eating like a champ, doing much, much better. I guess he was just slow coming out of brumation, but IV and Critical Care got him right back on track! :D

First, Narley:

I posted this in the Health forum, but thought I would update all of you here too! I'm so happy - Narley is finally "cured"!!!

When I first purchased Narley (from a highly reputable breeder), he struggled to use the restroom and would only go once every 3-4 days. The vet determined that he had parasites, but after two full treatments to eradicate the coccidia, Narley was still having a lot of trouble defecating. In the seven months that I had owned him, he had never gone to the bathroom more than twice in one week and each time was a struggle for him (lots of strain, LOTS of stool). There were no signs of impaction, he was bathed every other day, he ate lots of veggies, and he has always been housed on paper towels.

When it eventually got so bad that Narley went 2 full weeks defecating, I gave him a long bath and gently massaged his belly for a good twenty minutes. He finally went and I brought the fecal sample in to the vet to test for parasites. It was clean, and the vet had no idea what might be wrong with him. This issue had been going on for 6+ months, Narley had grown into a huge, healthy looking dragon, and nothing seemed to explain his lethargy and constipation.

I finally went to the breeder (who as also completely puzzled). He asked his vet, and his vet recommended giving Narley a weekly dose of Benebac. It seemed like a minor solution for a major problem, but I didn't know what else to try. I ordered the Benebac online and gave Narley his first dose last week.

After two doses, Narley is more active than he has ever been, and he has used the bathroom every day for four days, no struggle. He is 100% better! :blob5:  He now goes first thing in the morning, and wants to run and climb all over the house!

Thank you so much guys! I am very happy (and feel dumb for not trying probiotics sooner). Live and learn. Narley is still doing great! :D
Took this photo the other day, cuddle-time.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
