Hey all,

Anyone who replied to my previous topics will be pleased to know that my Sam is now parasite and worm free!! Yay! He's eating like a pig and is up to 104 grams (He was only 60 when I got him a few weeks ago!).

Anyway, that aside, I was wondering about multivitamin supplements for a dragon about 7 months old. Obviously I dust his crickets and superworms with calcium/d3 powder, but I haven't been using multivitamin supplements simply because I hadnt read anything that definitively said you have to. I am thinking however, that since he doesn't eat that many greens or vegetables, that giving him some vitamin supplements might be a good idea. My question is, how often should these be dusted on to their live feeders?

Cheers,
James

The most popular multi vitamins everyone here prefers is Herptivite by Rep cal or the one from BeautifulDragons.com. The Herptivite is a very fine powder and is better for coating insects. The vitamins from Beautiful Dragons is alfalfa based and very coarse. The rule of thumb is two days per week one time each day and take a break from the calcium these days. It sounds like you were having some problems so I wouldn't stop the calcium, the recommendation is for healthy normal dragons. Young dragons, under nourished dragons, and gravid females all can use all the calcium they can get. I've read some complaints about some dragons refusing food if the multi vitamin is on it, if that's the case, mix it in with the food you feed your crickets. One way or the other you can get them to eat it. A lot of people believe by gutloading your insects properly your dragon can get all the vitamins it needs. Thats pretty much what I do and it seems to work well. Cheers! Cheryl

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
