ok so long story short, a lady came into tmy job with a very iny BD and asked for help. he hadnt opened his eyes in days and at first she thought it was dead. I gave her as much info as I coud and directed her here. That was Monday ast night she comes back in and is uset he has made no improvement under her care and asks me if I would take him. Of course I said yes.

here is what we have 4.5 inch beardie weighs 5 grams was hatched a few days prior to christmas and sold for 20 bucks to a man for his 10 year old kid. When I questioned the lady everything was wrong...no uvb, woodchip substrate, crix way to big, mealies. You name it it was wrong.

Got him home last night, put him to bed, I work the late shift. This am he is awake and looking around. Took down about 1cc of squash reptiaid mixture and has his head up. he has gotten a couple of baths since she handed him over and in one I was able to find urate.

My fear is she had done some research and was bathing him and trying to rub his tummy. how possible is it she broke his back trying to help? i

Wow sorry to hear this. The only way to find out would be x-rays. You can feel under the belly for impaction and see if their is any hard spots in their. I would get him under a UVB asap and make sure to feed him the calcium in with the liquid food and keep up on the baths and rubbing the belly from top to bottom. I think the best thing to do would be a vet! Good luck.

Update: we have poop. first amount was full of cricket pieces sencond small amount was what looked like a cricket head and the baby food I have been feeding him. He is now back under his mega ray and black bearding. I am hoping the black beard is a protest to the bath and not from pain.

Just got home and hubby says he has moved a couple times today. he just drags himself wih his front legs. But that to me is better than giving up. It is an impovement from Monday and yesterday when he was given to me. I know that reptiles take a lng tie to recover, so I am beig patient. Thanks to many members here who helped me whn I got my first rescue, this time I feel a little more confident in my abilities.

Thursday morning update. Well his lighs just game on and he popped those eyes open as fast as the light. I am sure that has to be a good sign. I'll give him a couple hours to wake up and warm up then we are going to try feeding him more baby food.

Question.....the liquid calcium...is that safe to use under the mega ray? I know I ahd to get new powdered calcium for the other 2 now that we are using the mega ray.

OK gave him is bath and tried to feed him. he really isnt eating the baby food this morning. On a posoyive note he kept his eyes open durring his bath. No more poop. That worries me a little since he is so small.

can anyone who has dealt with impaction before tell me if it will cause them to be totally limp in the rear half? If so could this be why he isnt pooping? like hes not able to control the bowels? hes so tiny stroking his tummy is the best I can do to help him. Another member suggested swishing him gently back and forth in the water and I did try that but he black beards when Ido it so I am afraid I am hurting him.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
