eek! Here's a bump. Also I just looked up overdoses and most sites say something along the lines of:
"Panacur is a very safe drug. Adverse reactions and toxicities are unlikely. If you know or suspect your pet has had an overdose, or if you observe any unusual signs, symptoms, or behaviors, contact your veterinarian immediately."
It looks like even a huge overdose won't be too harmful, but a vet call would probably be a good idea. Crossing human and beardie fingers & toes for you and Char. Good luck!!! <3 <3
I am so sorry that happened. I was a paramedic and er tech and still have problems with small syringes. All I tell you is to give her water to help flush her system and keep an eye on her..maybe some baby food unsweetened applesauce to help get some food in her system. She may get a bit sleepy so watch her. IF she really starts acting funny call your vet for advice on what to do.
Thanks everyone I will keep a close eye on her! I gave her a 20 min bath 10 mins after she was alert before that though she very sleepy should I let her sleep or keep her awake?
I would let her sleep, it may be the best for her..but keep an eye on her and make sure you jostle her awake every 10-15 mins...Keep her system flushed with water...maybe someone with better advice will come along. Its what I did for my Geico with his first dose of panacur that I over did. He was fine after water every hr thru a syringe for about 5 hours..a soak every two hours x2...I think she will be ok..just watch her.
How is your dragon doing?
Normally, the panacur is pretty safe, but every once in awhile one will have a toxic reaction.
Just keep a close eye on her & try to keep her hydrated as much as you can. She may be extra lethargic or sleepy with a slight loss of appetite, but she should be fine.
