Tricks are for kids, not dragons...

I've been taking Brutus out of the viv the last few days for 15-20 minutes. I sit crosslegged and he climbs on my shoulders. I hold out my arms and he climbs around my arms. Well today he thought he was going to be "Super Dragon", because he jumped right off of my arm, trying to reach my dresser, and plopped right on the floor. I was totally freaked out he hurt himself, and I believe he was a bit stunned because he just sat there a bit until I picked him back up. I knew he was going to try this someday, venturing beyond his human master's body. I didn't think it would be this soon! He's still young so he wants to try out crazy stunts. Silly dragon, tricks are for kids! :blob5:

I agree. I tried a little fenced in area once, but Brutus wasn't quite used to being let out of the tank yet. He just freaked out. I'll have to wait a little longer to try that again. Hopefully sooner than later, seeing how he's becoming more adventurous.

I'm convinced that all baby beardies believe they could fly, thus the "flying squirrel" stunt. Fortunately, they eventually grow out of that phase because they get tired of the belly flops to the flor

Oh gosh Chimera is famous for his *taken a leap of faith* jump for freedom and exploration. hes knocked the wind out of himself and smacked his head a few times trying to jump from the couch to the coffee table. *splat*

My new dragon Nef thinks he's superman... within the first 3 days I had him he found a way to climb to the top of his viv and I managed to put a t-shirt under him right before he jumped off.

A few days later my younger brother came over and was holding Nef while I went to get him some worms and nef paniced ran up his arm and jumped off his shoulder i was pretty worried about that one but he seemed fine afterwards, though a little shaken up took him a few days before he'd let me get near him again.

Then just last night he was sleeping on my chest while I watched tv and he woke up all of a sudden jumped off my chest climbed up the side of my couch in the blink of and eye and ran as fast as he could on top of the couch, then ran out of couch... My couch isn't anywhere near as high as the other places he has jumped off of so I didn't feel that bad laughing at him. It was really funny to watch. After that i picked him up and he went back to sleep on my chest again, must have been a nightmare...

Ky's only done that once, when we were in the garden from my shoulder. She landed with a bit of a thump on the concrete and hasn't tried it since - unless she knows she's got her lead on. Because then she jumps - misses - and dangles until you rescue her.

Tsam on the other hand, poor baby, fell off my shoulder and I didn't have a hand free to catch him. His tail hit the bedpost and sent him spinning. He sat on the floor with his head slowly going in circles. I don't know if any of you have ever seen a dizzy dragon, but it was like that. My partner spun round a while with Tsam in his arms, and Tsammy's head was rotating as his eyes tried to catch up once he'd stopped moving. And then he fell over - standing still. My partner got a telling off.

Ouch that sounds painful :( We moved the coffee table out of his reach and when hes being held and moving we try and make sure we have a good grip so he cant jump for it. I've been trying really hard to make sure he dosnt get injured. My girls are sick of me telling them to watch him or not to let him out of their site. I always get  They are like 2 yr old children always into trouble or causing it lol

Wasn't there a post not too long ago where someone mentioned their dragon passing away after a fall? I get really scared with Bowser because she just will walk off the edge of things (tables, couches, shoulders) like she can't see the edge. scary.

That was last September 10 and it was Redrock that died. We didn't have a necropsy done as several factors kept us from having it done. We don't really know what caused her to fall. She fell several times and never got seriously hurt, except that one time.

Mine also loves to jump. Especially around breakfast time....He also seems to enjoy pancakes...seriously...He would get malicious joy from jumping from my chest smack in the middle of some syrup usually and if I happen to have him on my knee he would climb up my shirt faster then you could blink and whoooosh...beardie for breakfast...Let me tell you right now...bearded dragons and syrup are a horrid combination..

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
