Make sure it has a probe to measure the basking spot :)

Most of them do. Use the one with the probe for the basking spot. But if there is one that does not have a probe, feel free to use that for the cooler side of the tank.

Are you looking for a thermostat or a thermometer? I thermostat controls your heating device and a thermometer simply measures temperature.

If you are looking for a thermostat, check out Zoomed's Repti-Therm 500R. It's $25, and it works really well. I use it for my gecko's UTH, and it keeps the temp within 3*F of what I set it to.

Did that work for you Jess? I had tried it with my snake's setup, specifically for her UTH, but I found that it did not work and it ended up burning her underside, regardless of the tile I placed overtop. It may have been defective. I bought and am now using a dimmer switch for heat control on all of my reptiles' lighting and heating and find that that works as well, as long as your house is relatively consistent with temperature.

Really? That sucks, you must have gotten a bad one. Mine always keeps the temps between 92-95*F for my leo, and I've had it for a month.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
