The Dresden Files - 12/9 Ember is now at peace

I couldn't help myself with the title of this thread. It makes me smile! The Dresden Files are some of my favorite fantasy books about a magician/warlock detective in Chicago. I love them and the name, so my new beardie baby is now Dresden. He will soon have a brother whom I am adopting this weekend from a family not far from me. They are moving out of state and want him to have a good home. They tried to sell him on CL but had no takers, or if they did they didn't like who was inquiring because they want him to have a good home. They are giving me him, plus his whole 55 gallon tank and stand for super cheap.
Dresden was 10 inches and 47 grams as of 8/3/2011 and was hatched the week of May 9th, 2011 which makes him 13 weeks old.

This is the soon-to-be-brother. I need to find him a name. How can you name a beardie before you meet him or her?

I'm so glad to hear that your dragons had a good meal! All those medications are going to pay off! My cats ate dandelion greens yesterday and then played with the stems around the kitchen. I didn't see the stems so either they ate them or ran off with them to parts unknown :shock: and I'll be finding them this morning. I have seen both the boys eat a wax worm though neither looked sure about the idea...But I dropped it so it must have been something good.
Is Dresden looking less dark? He can sure pull out the angry colors!

Both the kids are doing much better now that most of the meds are out of the way. I think it was the antibiotic making their tummies upset. I'm still continuing with the Acidopholiz. I still haven't figured out a decent way to get the bee pollen into them though. Maybe I will have some more time this weekend to sort it out.

I got a bunch of dubia last week since my colony isn't quite producing enough nymphs to satisfy both Dres and Nezzie. I looked today and we're down to just the babies. I have another order of medium sized ones coming in hopefully Friday. Neither are too keen on Reptiworms but they are going to have to be until the dubia get here.

Dresden is up to 118 grams and Nezzie is at 368 grams!! Both got their baths today and pooped in the bath. I was rather proud of Nezzie - she went without any difficulty! I never thought I'd be so excited over poo.

Maggie, if you kind of squash the bee pollen or grind it up a little, it dissolves in a tiny amount of warm water. You can then add a little cold water and mix it withthe acidophiliz

Dresden is at 128 grams and 13 inches! I am at the bottom of the barrel for dubia so he's been getting Reptis and butterworms, neither of which excites him but if he's hungry enough he'll eat them lol More dubia should be here hopefully today if not tomorrow along with new beardie blankies!

Nezzie lips are turning pink where I am giving her the Acidopholiz since I just use the syringe to dropper it onto her nose. It looks like she's wearing lipstick.

Between CC, acidophiliz n his spirulina mix, his face is always dirty- the spirulina makes him look like e has been chewing on an ink cartridge!!!

I'm just bored in general!! Phoebe and Huff slept most of the day I miss them and Kazi was too busy being a mad man to be bothered with me today. He had another stress episode this afternoon and I don't know what triggered it but he seems ok now- he's fast asleep as it is 9.30pm here. Hopefully he will be ok when he wakes up in the morning.

When I think of Seattle, it reminds me of my old job- when something went wrong with the cash registers or computer, I was regularly heard shouting 'phone Seattle' or 'be quiet, I'm talking to Seattle' as if Seattle were a person!LOL! I would like to go there tho- but sadly, the lack of a job right now, is having a negative effect on my bank balance! Hehe!

You should come over here- if you go to England tho, you will have to cross the little pond to come visit me but there is plenty of room in myhouse for guests and their beardie children

Beardie blankies and dubia arrived today. Dresden ate about 5. I think he was annoyed he hasn't any for the last couple of days. He did eat some of his salad though.

I do have some more good news though. It does confim that I'm officially hooked and slightly crazy. OK. A lot crazy. Rea (evanescent) posted about a baby girl that was going to need a home. I fell in love with her face. She's so stinking cute! She's going to lose her right arm, and isn't ready to travel yet, but when she is she's coming to my house! What's one more beardie?!
Her name is Ember. I don't think I'll change it, but who knows what her personality will be when I get her.

That poor little girl, I hope there will be a day when people head the warnings for keeping bearded dragons communally. I am however glad she is going to a great place and will have a proper life. You are a great person and a great dragon owner. :wink:

Yes, Maggie- you are officially crazy (just like the rest of us!!) I told you it was only a matter of time lol... Some baby translucents hatched in my local pet store this week- they are soooo cute and tiny. I got my baby tank back so I'm now working only hubby to see if he will let me getone LOL! He keeps saying no tho because we have no money but I have 4 weeks to try to convince him :twisted:
