Temeraire

Hey! New beardie owner here. My little guy Temeraire is just over two months old now and I've had him for two weeks. He's always been pretty good about being handled, but today when I put my hand in the tank he put his little hand on my thumb and after a few moments of consideration he jumped onto my hand! It was so adorable and it's the first time he has chosen to be handled I just had to share :) Here is a picture I took a few seconds after. He's sitting on my thumb the way he usually sits on the smallest branch of his tree (there are more appropriately sized branches, he just seems to like sleeping in precarious positions).

So many new pictures!

So I went on a bit of a shopping spree and got Tem a hammock which is now his favorite place after he finished licking the whole thing. Here he is lounging.

He's gotten so much bigger. He is now 8 1/2 inches long. He recently tried to fit back on his baby tree which I left in the tank so that I didn't change everything at once on him, and this was the result.

And this is just one if him looking rather spunky. He was waiting for me to put more worms on his dish.

And speaking of food, he has started doing this really strange thing when I put him back in his tank after feeding him. I usually have him flat on my hand and then slide my hand out from under him and instead of putting his front feet down, he stays standing and stares at me. I think he is trying to convince me to give him more treats.

Oh my, I loved all the pictures, but especially the last 2. I think he's just wanting more worms, like you said. It's so great to see a little guy eating normally, I'm having a few issues with Imp but nothing we can't work out together. I'm so glad Tem is so spunky!

Yeah Temeraire is ridiculously enthusiastic about feeding time. I use red tweezers to pick the worms out of their substrate and he definitely recognizes the tweezers. If he's really hungry he will leap for the empty tweezers as I'm moving. It startled me the first time because he was resting on my shoulder while I was getting stuff out of the drawer and all of a sudden he flew off of me and lunged for them! Has little Imp been eating any more bugs?

He ate 2 dubia yesterday and today, so that's a good start. I give him a mix of carnivore care, critical care, butternut squash baby food and bee pollen because he wasn't absorbing Vit D3 or calcium when I too him to the vet after he started seizing. It was scary, though I'd lose him but the mix worked. Now he's wanting a few bugs at a time. Tomorrow I'll put a few in a dish so he can chase them, he is a good hunter, which is also good.

I LOVE the ramp - that's a great idea. My boy loves nothing more than basking by the window during the day and then finding a nice little corner to curl himself into for a nap. He gets plenty of UV from his tank, but I'm sure he'd thoroughly appreciate a higher vantage point - i try to get him in his outside tank as often as possible in summer, but as i live in the bush and he has a natural fear of birds...it doesn't tend to be to his liking lol. He loved in when i was in the suburbs though and would have his outside tank - come pool in 40c aussie summers and happily drenched and lazily dragging himself from shade to sun at his leisure was an activity that would get you a 'puff' if you tried to bring him inside to leave the house lol :)
He was a rescue and I've only recently found out his age - i assumed he was 6 from what i was told. He's actually just about to turn 9. He's a happy spoilt boy who (due to my insomnia) gets to spend many nights sleeping on my bare skin all nice and warm and snug under the blankets! I'm yet to figure out how to upload pictures here (long time stalker, first time poster and all that jazz) but when i figure it out I'll post some up - He's a central/eastern hypo mix and is the love of my life!

Great to see I'm not alone in spoiling my boy and allowing him to take over my life and home :)

So here's how you load pics: https://www.beardeddragon.org/useruploads/#new Just load them on here from your computer and press the IMG at the end of the row above the post to post them on here.
This is the latest picture of Imp, he was on my bed having a blast. I have all kinds of things on my bed, piles of beardie blankets, sweaters, an old lamb stuffie from when I was a kid, plus my computer (had ankle surgery, was home 4 months, found it easier to have everything handy on the bed & left it all there LOL) Can you tell I live alone?

So that's how you post pics. Alex, the owner, made this easy way to load pics on here without using an outside place to store the pictures. Much easier!

I have to change my signature. My dragons, except for Gabriel have all passed away in the last 2 years of one thing or another. Now I have Gabriel, 5; Nathaniel and Cierra (brother and sister) 2 yrs old, all rescues. Then Castiel is 17 mo old, he was a gift from a friend in June, and now Imp, who's supposed to be older than he looks, so not sure how old he really is, but he's still tiny for 3-4 mo old, never mind older!

So you have a 9 year old, a senior! I'm glad you're having so much fun with him. I'll never have less than 5 dragons. I can't live without them! They are my world. :D

That's such a cute pic of Imp :)

So the other night I decided to try and get some action shots of Tem eating, and I failed miserably, but here are my attempts, if only for comedic value.

There are a few more but the image uploaded is being finicky so I'll add them later :)

They are so quick with that tongue of theirs. I loved those pictures!

I'm glad he's doing so well, he's so cute. Imp is finally eating crickets every morning, plus I'm continuing the mix to make sure his immune system stays nice and strong. This is the latest pic this am, he's now 73g and growing, finally!

And in this photo is he being his true sooky self and climbing up on me to nuzzle up and have a sleep with daddy after I'd been gone for 1 whole day lol.

Great pictures, I love it when they try to look fierce, then turn around and snuggle for hours :love5:

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
