Tatsu: Can I join your army?

Dear Tatsu,

After the abuse I have suffered over the last few months, I would like to enlist in your army to help with world domination.

I have always been a very mellow dragon--I've never bitten anyone, I eat my salad, I sometimes poop in the right place, and I rarely complain about anything. I've only black-bearded once because I got scared. I always flash a cute smile and cuddle with my people.

To thank me for my good behavior, my people have resorted to torture--for months!

In September, I decided that it was time to brumate so I casually started to hide. All a dragon wants is a little sleep, you know? Would they let me? No! My people took me out of my cave and kept forcing me into the heat. I should have started biting then, but I was just too sleepy. Besides, I figured I could sneak into the cave when they weren't looking. To add insult to injury, they took away my cave so I couldn't do that either. Then, on top of everything else, they made me drink some yucky medicine because I supposedly had pinworms. Once I got better, they forced me to take more medicine because I supposedly had coccidia. How much torture is one dragon expected to take? I just wanted to sleep.

Well, after months of forced sleep-deprivation and medicine, they finally let me sleep. It was too late at that point. My rage started to build, and I almost contacted you.

Now, the torture has continued even more! I have decided to wake up because I've been feeling a bit amorous, shall we say. You'd think the people would be happy to see me awake. I've been running around, trying to get their attention, but what do they do? They just stand there and watch me. They distract me when I'm working up a black beard and take away my thunder. To top it off, they won't bring me a date! I don't ask for much. Let me sleep when I'm tired, and bring me a woman when I'm awake!

I've had it! I'm fed up! This torture has to stop.

Are you accepting new recruits? We can't allow dragons to suffer in this way!

I am diligently training my young group of 20 troops to engage in reconnaisance to aid the cause. Even now our campaign to assist in this plan is beginning. Young recruit #15 went on an intelligence surveillance mission in the human slaves' domicile to gather intelligence and coordinate communication. #15 was gone on this 8) dangerous 2 day mission in the lower level of the "house" before discovered by the male human slave and returned to the barracks. This young prodigy is only 3 weeks old and already a master of espionage. My humble mate Bob is also doing his part and causing distractions by making poop piles for the slaves whenever they take him out for interaction. We are masters of the midwest and will anxiously await your orders.

I think you should take the southern states. I mean, you are the general! Recruits, please step up! US regions are pretty big and if there are 2 recruits that want a region, it might be easier. There are already 2 (including myself) for the midwest. Please refer to this for grouping plan and map.

Curly, I would gladly share my hornworms with you once my human orders some more. She said something about butterworms today though. I've never had a superworm before and I want to try one. Curly, if no one else volunteers for New England, is it possible for you and your buddies to take all of New England to Bradley airport? We're going to need 7 more volunteers if Tatsu doesn't take the south so recruits, step up! If possible, some beardies could migrate to other US regions for the task? Come on recruits!

Great Leader Tatsu,

Fibonacci, Recruit # 126, Statistical Analysis, in Northern California here, requesting command of the Pacific Coast, Sir. Your September date is immediately after a major reptile show which the slave will attend, and we should be well supplied for this attack. I wish to report on the progress of your troops here. Kang, #124, Seshat, #125, both Hazmat Specialists, Diver, #121, Air Technician and Nefertiti, #122, Intelligence, are all fit and ready for battle. Galadriel, #123, continues to improve, and her mobility and speed improve steadily. She hopes to be ready for our September exercise. Astarte, #127 is recovering from laying clutches in April, May and June, the last taking a heavy toll, but her weight is finally restored, and she is toning with exercise, and should be ready for duty at the end of this month. Young Galileo, although not a year old until mid-October, is asking to join, over 14 inches at his previous measure, and he bit the slave the last time she tried to measure him, as he knew she was withholding silkworms. He is going to be be a great dragon, with an indomitable spirit. He also shows similar talent for math and analysis, and will be of great help as a technician. Gaia and Hob are smaller, but still showing great growth, and will be ready to join later this year. Beside Galileo, I also ask to add Thoth, a two-year-old male, travelled from Washington state as a young dragon, strong and willing to fight for our cause. As for Astarte's clutches, Nefertiti reports that 21 have hatched, including the first of the third clutch, earlier today. I have not seen but one of them who was hatched on July 24th, but is already six inches long, called Monet by the slave. If this is the standard, they will make wonderful recruits when they are grown. That leaves 10 still in the egg, and I will report as I learn more of their condition. I am also working to recruit an eight-year-old dragon named Max, who has been living with slaves related to our slave's household group, and will report when he is ready. There is also a Tegu at that location, full grown and very strong, and we are trying to add him as well. My condolences on your foul mistreatment in the hands of your slaves, and I rejoice in the improvement of your health. The slave has been waiting for more silkworms for us and currently has superworms, hornworms and phoenix worms in the pantry. We will gather all we can and will take BART to San Francisco International Airport to meet you where you wish, unless you wish to us to maintain a front here. If you wish us to bring other supplies, please send a list, and we will ready all we can muster. With your leadership, we cannot fail, and the world will be ours!
