Tales of Thresh and Fizz *Update*

Hi everyone!

So Deb was amazing today and came over and helped me pick out the new baby for the family. Except he isn't so much of a baby. And he may also may not be a he. :lol: He's from the same clutch as Baron was from, so his birthday is March 10th! And holy moly what a healthy juvie.

Even though he is a bit small at 12 inches, he can eat. Let me tell you, he can eat. Deb got pictures of him eating when I first gave him food 5 minutes after him being in the tank. 2 bowls of roaches later and a bowl and a half of baby bok choi and he seemed content. SO. PICTURES. I only got 3 before my camera died.

The last two are kind of crappy...But the camera was making angry red flashes at me and I was trying to get some.

Congratulations! Fizz is adorable, such awesome coloring too. Looks like he was really enjoying those rocks.

Happy to hear that Thresh has improved some, that's awesome. Hope the improvement continues daily. What a good girl she is.

Thanks everyone, I'm totally obsessed with him. He ate a few roaches(he doesn't understand bowls yet) and a piece of collard. Victory for today since I wasn't expecting him to eat at all. He's also started to shed some! He's into his second shed, and I was so hoping he would wait to start the shedsplosions until he was here and he did!

He handles well, too. I love him so much.

Oh, he's just so cute! And he already ate today, that's great news! Love his colours, he's so adorable.
I'm glad he got to you safely. It was fun to see the "Rubio's boat" being put to good use as a bathtub I'm so glad to hear that Thresh is doing better, too, hopefully that continues...

Rubio's boat is a hit, Deb. Thresh doesn't mind it and it works so well for her, and it'll work well for Fizz, too.

He's been pretty hard because of all the shipping and relocation stress, and shed! I'm hoping he'll colour up soon, his temps are perfect(I've checked obsessively). If he doesn't in a few days I'll throw up a divider out of some cardboard in his tank and see if that helps him.

So no sign of shed this morning around 10, I walk in at 11:15 and I was greeted with a tiny little shedsplosion. Gave him some roaches to chase around(and tilted his bowl to see them better) and gave him a bath.

He likes baths! He drank a little then swam around a bunch, pooped then swam around some more.

Also we got our Toothless Build-A-Bear today!

Look at that shed exploding and love the Toothless stuffie. I know Liz has one, too, it's so cute. I'm waiting for the next movie to come out on June 13, that's the next movie I'm going to.

He's such a cutie, so glad he's doing ok and I'm so glad he likes his bath, too. He'll be fine, especially once this shed is finished! Thanks for the picutures, looks like he's already grown! Glad he's got a good appetite, too.

And yeah, he shed that all off after his bath. It just kind of peeled away, I think he's grown but I'm not going to measure/weigh him until after he's been here for a week.

I'm glad the shed came off so well, he's is sure a cutie! He seems to be settling in well. By next week he'll be totally comfy and home, I just bet!

Hey all, just a small update. Threshs foot swelling hasn't really gone down at all. She's booked for the vet on Monday at 10:20 and will probably have her foot removed(the vet said he might just take 2-3 toes though). I got kind of mad at the secretary that I called because she told me I should have Thresh in sooner then Monday to have it dealt with but I work every day until then(I work 5 days in a row now with Mon/Tues off). I kind of snapped at her I felt bad about it after, but honestly 2 days is not going to kill her(we went on a Saturday) if she just went through 2 weeks on Baytril that has done NOTHING for her.

I'm a bit concerned about it but we'll see what happens.

Fizz is doing good! Pooping every day and gaining weight! He's up to 20g(or over) and he arrived at 17g, was shipped at 18g. So he's putting on weight. I'll do an official measure/weigh tomorrow to see how he's improved/grown since we got him.
He seems to only be happy colours in a warm warm bath and eating...Im not sure what I've gotten myself into yet...

I'm sorry to hear about Thresh, hopefully it will be just a few toes, either way she'll be healhier.

And as for Fizz, you have a beautiful baby to watch grow

Sorry to hear about Thresh. My Buster is missing a foot and gets around like he still had it. I'm sure she will be fine. Good that little Fizz is gaining weight. They're a couple of cuties, for sure.

Good luck with Thresh at the vets. As long as she gets better, that's the main thing, hopefully will only have a toe or 2 removed but if it's the foot, she will be healthier without it and will adjust fine.

Happy to hear that Fizz is doing so well. They are both gorgeous beardies.

I agree with you all. I talked to the vet because I would like to one day breed Thresh and I wanted to hear his opinion on if I could/should and he said it wouldn't bother her at all even if I breed her. If I wasn't able to I would have to postpone all breeding plans until way way later for me to find a proper female and have her mature until 2yrs old.
