Tales of Thresh and Fizz *Update*

Hi everyone!

So Deb was amazing today and came over and helped me pick out the new baby for the family. Except he isn't so much of a baby. And he may also may not be a he. :lol: He's from the same clutch as Baron was from, so his birthday is March 10th! And holy moly what a healthy juvie.

Even though he is a bit small at 12 inches, he can eat. Let me tell you, he can eat. Deb got pictures of him eating when I first gave him food 5 minutes after him being in the tank. 2 bowls of roaches later and a bowl and a half of baby bok choi and he seemed content. SO. PICTURES. I only got 3 before my camera died.

The last two are kind of crappy...But the camera was making angry red flashes at me and I was trying to get some.

Thresh is going okay. She's still being finicky about eating but she had 6 supers today(most she's had in a while!) and a few of those took a bit of convincing, and now I'm all out of the 50 we bought a long time ago. Time to start her fully on the Repti's. She'll take 20-30 of them a day at best but it's working with her to eat that many.

So the last measurement I posted, I think it was on the 16th. She was at 15 1/4. Well tonight she is 1/8 short of 16. I don't know where she's getting this energy to grow, but she's getting it, somehow. I'm glad she'll be well over 16 inches by her 7th month. I've been more then worried about her growth.

You sure don't have to worry about her growth, she's doing great. And the repti's will help her grow more, if she's eating that many. Yeah Thresh, just carry on!

Thresh is doing well, she's eating enough worms now, but is only pooping every other day to every 3 days. So I'm going to try getting some pumpkin in her. Not sure how that'll work though.

I got Arya's cage liners and snuggle bag today, too! It was sent out Monday, and I got it in a week! I'm so happy with how quickly I got them. The liners are super soft and very well padded and look so nice. Her cuddle bag isn't as thick as I had hoped, but I like it all the same. She's in it huffing and puffing away right now, angry as could be at the world as she's not handled as often as I would like, though she's more used to my presence and smell then anyone else in the house. The snuggle sack should change that though-easier to take her out and cuddle her.

So I have a hedgehog in my lap and a dragon sleeping on my shoulder.

I also figured out what I'm going to do for Halloween costumes! I'm going to try and make a costume for Thresh that's taken from her namesake, Arya is going to get a little felt cape with the Direwolf/Stark symbol painted on it, Benjamin is going to get a little vest/tie, and Missy is going to get a 'dress'.

I don't know what I'll do, but I have the pets figured out and that's the most important part.

I think the change of works is what's causing Thresh to poop less often, taking more time to digest, maybe? You could try not just the pumpkin but the water in her bath a bit warmer, that's what works for my boys all the time.

Sounds like the costumes are going to turn out very well, you'll have to get Brandon to take a pic of you all together!

I've been giving her warmer then normal baths that are slightly deeper and that doesn't seem to be doing the trick, either. I know it isn't uncommon for undigested worms with the repti's, but I haven't had a single problem since she's gone on them. Chews them up really well, which I'm glad about!

I haven't gotten my new UVB yet. I asked Jen about it and she assured it would be delivered when I get Arya's new cage.

And I hope they turn out well! I'm going to try fabric for Benjamin and Missy that's easy to handsew, since I don't have a sewing machine. Arya's will be felt, which will be very simple, and Thresh's will be a combination of felt and the foam kids use for crafts. I'm hoping they turn out really well!

So Thresh is eating the worms when I'm not looking. I was lying in bed this morning and I heard her eating them and when I looked at her she spotted me and ran off. So no more hand feeding for her. :lol:

I did all my budgeting for this month. Brandon gets paid 3 times in Nov, so we have extra income this month since we don't have to budget rent out of it. How exciting! We'll be able to buy new winter jackets, pay off his PS4 and all the games he wants with it, buy a stationary bike for the two of us on top of other stuff(like paying off my CC and overdraft). I'm really pleased.

Kellon also got an assistant! So he promised me from now on when I place an order it will be sent out the next day(email friday, sent monday). I'm going to be getting my worm order for selling probably next week or start of week after that, it's being sent out tomorrow. And he's emailing me the contact info for people that inquired about it before.

Congrats on getting your business started & don't you love when you have 3 pays in one month? I live for those 2 months a year to get caught up, put $ aside, etc. That's the one good thing about biweekly paychqs!

So she is eating behind your back, I had a feeling. Good for her & good for you for catching her at it :lol: I've got to clean out the gecko tanks, then I'll find out if they're really eating roaches or letting them go, will be great if they are eating them, though, means I don't have to go the cricket route, yeah!

So everyone here is doing well. Thresh is eating enough, I think, getting worms into her body and every couple days I treat her to a few roaches. She really likes that.
Arya is being a little stink, but I'm getting her out every night for at least an hour. She normally stays in her cuddle sack, but she's already getting more used to my presence. So we'll see how far she's come in a month or two.
The cat's are doing well, though Benjamin is being a stink. He keeps ripping into the treat bags and trying to eat them all, so we have to keep them high up where he can't get them. And Missy is getting along fine too.

Brandons mother and step father won't be coming for Thanksgiving, so it will just be the two of us. I'm not sure what I'll be making, need to figure it out during the week.

Worms passed through Customs and should be here tomorrow. Very quick, were shipped out Wednesday last week. I'm really happy!


Depending on how friendly Arya gets, Brandon and I might get another reptile next year. I really want another dragon, but I'm looking for one that I can spend time with while Thresh is down for Brumation in the winters. I was thinking about a gecko or a snake. We'll have to wait and see, it'll be next year for sure. Especially if we end up in Alberta and me working long hours, I'll want to see what our lives might be like. Though things are starting to go well for us financially, finally, so we might end up staying in Vancouver. I don't know if I could do Alberta winters. :lol:
