Tail rot

Hey guys. Have a question about tail rot. It is about a savahana monitor though. Daisy had tail rot awhile back and I caught it before it got bad. I used bentadine iodine to get rid of it. I was able to get the monitor in a 10 gallon and spray iodine on his tail that way. The monitors tail rot is bad but I don't think really bad. Is there anything else I can do without going to the vet? Sorry about posting this here there are very few monitor forums that are helpful and I know all of you are willing to help

I would think you would treat it the same as you would a bearded dragon. Good luck.

So the iodine should help a lot right?
