I can't offer help as I have a male. But my heart goes out to you and to Sunny. She has got to be as frustrated as you are. Just hang in there and get her to the vet as suggested, that is your best bet and may relieve some of your stress associated with the not knowing for 100% what and why she is behaving this way. I would hate for you to give her up and find out there was something you could have done to help her. Either way, whatever you chose to do I don't think you will receive any complaints here. It has been my experience that we pretty much all respect each other and try to help one another. Good luck and keep us updated!

She has an appointment at 2 the clinic we are going to had no openings today but the doctor decided to stay past closing to see her. I was sooo happy and felt really blessed to have a doctor like the one she will be seeing.

if it is an emergency they should stay open to help. we had a cat that had urinary problems and our vet would meet us at his office in the middle of the night to treat him.

Well no one else would stay open or call in an exotic doctor. The one place I was going to call deals with exotics but not reptiles and we called about 6 or 7 other places but they either didn have openings didn't have a doctor on Duty or were closed. So I was releaved when we found one willing to help us.

wow if they aren't willing to fit in an emergency i probably wouldn't want to go to them ever for anything else.

Wow.. Every vet i ever went to will rush to there ofice to open for you if there in an emergency. When i worked as a co-op at the local vets office i would here stories of the midnight emergencies. Our doctors here drop everything to come help.

We got her in and the doctor said she doesn't seem egg bound or impacted. She didn't do X-rays we just did things physically between her and Sunny. She did a fecal float which came back that she has pin worms she sent me home with a de wormer that she takes one dose today and then the second and last dose on the 27th. She sent me home with critical care diet to feed her and if she isn't eating by the end of next week we will be taking her back in to get x rays or a CBC. Other than the worms and not eating she is healthy. Which is great we asked about her vomit they said that she could have been dehydrated but she didn't think she was but she gave her injection fluids under her skin. Thank you to everyone who has helped me I will keep you all updatd.

Hopefully the vet is right. But they not being familiar with reptiles the best thing would have been to take an X-ray to be sure, since egg binding is fatal and this could have confirmed for sure whether there were eggs that were stuck instead of guessing. You really can't feel infertile eggs so they were just guessing, so hopefully poor Sunny improves and you can breath a sigh of relief.

Sunny seems to be responding to treatment. She is active alert and bright in color. We will try her on worms tomorrow but will continue the critical care diet until she eats and poos normally.

I don't want to alarm you but I'd be very careful in trusting a vet that says that a female does not "seem to be egg bound", without taking x-rays. That's exactly how we lost our dear girl, Fanta... At first she was struggling with her eggs, then laid 15 eggs and seemed to be recovering, and the vet prescribed critical care. Well, she was egg bound and deteriorated *extremely* rapidly and died in less than a day. :-(
