I'm probably not making oe, but how would i make my own enclosure.

Yes it's a 4X2X2. I motified it by using plywood instead and cutting a hole in the top for a MVB bulb

is the hole you cut the size of your fixture?

Just a little bigger and I used brackets to hold it so that I can adjust the height if the lamp depending on the temp in the tank. If you want to see pictures follow this link:

Did you build the steps and basking platform yourself? I looks really awesome! I love your viv too! When I make one, that is about what I want mine to look like.

I really want to try my hand at making a fake rock wall / basking platform, but am a little hesitant to do so cause I don't know where to start. (Kind of the whole "i want it to look awesome, but am afraid of messing it up" fear) lol!

Yes I made the steps and platform. It took some time but it was worth it. I'm going to look for the directions that I used and I will post them for you. I made some adjustments to it but it came out fine. You can't mess it up you can always correct it before you grout it the grout is what makes it look so good.
