Studly Dudley! ♥ *Massive Picture Overload 7/30*

My dad just randomly came home with him! He is cutest thing ever, and has tons of chub! He just dived into his salad!
Hes 2 years old, 15-17 in. long (has pretty good sized nip) and 442 grams... Dyed from red sand, so I cant see his colors.

LOL, that's kinda what I'm hoping will happen! With such cheap crickets, I could actually afford to feed a baby!
But the only way I would consider getting a beardie (or any other reptiles) there is if it is sick/injured/really needs some TLC. I don't really like to buy animals from pet stores since there are so many that already need homes, and saving one from dieing is probably the only thing that would convince my mom to let me bring it home!

Tomorrow is my 2 year beardieversary! :love5: If I still had Wink, he would be 2 years old now. I'll have to dig up some pictures of him to post tomorrow.

Well i guess you could consider getting a beardie from a petstore "rescueing" them? being so many pet stores dreadfully neglect any of their pets. Maybe not from your work(being your there and they already take semi-good care of them, well better then other places) but places like petco ect.

@Jpiroden: Sorry, but I refuse to give Petco any money for their animals. They actually gave me Wink for free instead of putting him to sleep, and the amount of health problems he had was absolutely ridiculous! I will take free animals form pet stores any day, but I don't like the idea of supporting them so they can just order more beardies with my money.

@Sashee: That's what I'm thinking! Either a leo or a crestie. My mom loves leos, and she wanted me to get one instead of a beardie LOL. So that might work. :twisted:
What I really want is a blue tongue skink, but that's kinda a long shot!

Since Dudley is extremely boring, I might hijack his thread with pics of my other fur babies tonight. :mrgreen:

Ah, yes understandable. It jet pains me to see so many innocent babys abused in such a way. Congress should pass a bill to make sure all animals get what is required for their best health. Also each employee should be taught the correct training for each and every animal...

On a happier note: i don't think anybody would mind see your more furry cuties!

I have two leo's and highly recommend them. Really easy to care for, compared to a beardie anyways. I've had mine since about 2006, so they are doing well I'd say! And dont need expensive UVB bulbs, which is a plus when I already have two to replace every 6 months

Yeah I've done research on how to care for them, and they seem pretty easy! And they are adorable and soft and squishy.

And there should definitely be a bill or something to prevent animal cruelty in pet stores. The people buying them should have to take a test too.

Anyways, here is my mini hijack about my other babies!

I'll start off with Smudge! I've had him since I was 9 years old, and he turns 8 on September 6th. He is such an awesome little bunny, I don't know what I would do with out him. He's also rather evil, LOL!

I have this little shelf that is over my A/C vent, so he spends quite a bit of time sitting under it and trapping all the cold air in that little cubby.

No legs!

I didn't have any space for a cage in my room, so I decided to turn my closet into his enclosure:

My dog Chuey is a shihtzu, and he turns 11 in November. He is a weirdy, and he is terrified of all of my other pets LOL. Smudge is known to attack him. :roll:

I have an African clawed frog named Squishy (Full name is Mr. Squishy Man LOL) in a 15 gallon aquarium too. I've had him for about 4 years now. He's really tame, and he will follow your hand around and let you "hold" him underwater.

At one point in time the plants actually looked nice, but they've grown out of control and I've given up on them!

And I have 6 hermit crabs. 5 of them I adopted form the humane society last year. Their cage isn't too interesting though... Real wood always gets moldy and they destroy live plants, so there isn't much I can do with it.

This is my room LOL.

My sister has a guinea pig named Tilly (Matilda) too. I had a piggie named Sunny, but she passed away in January. I don't have many good pics of them on Photobucket though.
Sunny is the multicolored one, and Tilly is dark brown.

Wow! How did you afford all that stuff? I get maybe $200 a year( b-day & christmas) but never at the same time awww all your pets are sooo cute! I lovE the pic of smudge with no legs :mrgreen:

The wonders of Craigslist, garage sales, and thrift stores. :lol: The two aquariums were free, Smudge's cage only cost me about $30 to make, and Dud's cage was $90 on Craigslist. I have to pay for all of my pets (Except for my dog, since he's a family pet) and their vet bills, so this is where all of my babysitting money goes!
