Stress Marks

While Rolo is basking in the natural sunlight she is showing stress marks. Could these marks mean other things besides stress, are there different patterns of the under belly markings?

Both of ours get stress makrs when basking. I think it is totally normal.

My personal theory is that they darken up so they can absorb more heat since their rocks also let out heat. Don't know if that's right or not, but its my theory...
