Stitch and Sydney- New pics pg 22!!

I rescued a beardie yesterday, and am looking for a little support group overall for the most part, and any advice you have to give... and hopefully to watch this little one progress from pitaful to fat and sassy over the next months!!! For some quick background info...I'm a long time lurker of several bearded dragon forums over the past 7 years, and I've had 2 beardies over the past 6.5 years, but have always been a 1 beardie household (until today). My first I had for 5 years, before he passed from a long term illness, and then I've had a new baby for just over a year.
This one ended up with me yesterday. I'm not entirely sure of all the details, but he ended up with a wildlife rehabber about 3 weeks ago, who has to go through major surgery and who has been trying to get a better home for him since then. He was supposedly bitten by another bearded dragon on the tail base before going to the rehabber, but in my opinion it looks more like a dog bite. He's skinny, and the saddest part is apparently he put on "good weight" over the past 3 weeks - his little hip bones are all sticking out :( Here is a first picture, but I"m not sure how well the skinniness will come through

At the vet's office we did a full workup - got that scab off and the skin and area cleaned up, bloodwork, xrays, took a biopsy of the wound to make sure the yellow coloration around it isn't yellow fungus , and got him started on antibiotics and pain meds. He never would poo at the office, so no sample to test there (stinker). Here is a pic afterwards, in the 2nd bath of the day

Things look better at that point, and he's lightened up a little bit at least.
I've got lights, etc on order for him, but for now, my tortoise was nice enough to share her UVB light , and we'll shift some lights around to get things up to temp, and then hopefully my next week all my stuff will be in and he'll be set up.
As I mentioned earlier support and advice are welcomed! Luckily my significant other, Matt, loves the beardies too, but doesn't quite understand :) I know many of you guys will !!! I've already become alarmingly attached to this dude, and have named him Stitch. This is the fastest I've named something in a long time, so hopefully that's not a jinx, but will give him something to aspire too. Figured the name worked...he's a rescue, but still a bit fiesty, and maybe he'll aspire to some mischievousness over time :D
When I got him home tonight and put him in the 3rd bath of the day (where i finally got poo :blob5: ) he lightened up the most I'd seen him, so I'm hoping he knows that he's HOME... and that's my anthropomorphizing for the day... (But check out the pics?? What do yall think ?????)

and then snuggling in a towel - he's not sure quite what to make of this I think, but is still snuggled in the towel propped on my leg as I type....

I'll have questions and concerns soon I'm sure, but I wanted to introduce Stitch !!

I love the superworm pics of Stitch and Sydney! I can't believe that Sydney passed up waxworms for a super! Every single one of my dragons will NEVER pass up a waxie treat!! Stitch sure does make a mess with his veggies, that's what my big girls do, I don't think they actaully eat any of it just sling it around.

Sydney ate all the waxworms eventually... I think they didn't move enough for her and the supers were all trying to run away. She seems to prefer a lot of movement.
Stitch usually eats a little more "neatly" than that... lol but he danced it all over his tank and under everything.. so had to get everything out to clean up.
Silly dragons :)

Hi Carrie! It's been too long since we've had a Stitch and Sydney update!!! How's the New Year treating you??

It has been too long! We are all doing well in the new year. I'm not sure I can officially blame the lack of updates on much.. maybe just having a weird schedule ??? Between the new year and all this snow over the past week it's been odd.. hehe But again not sure I can blame the lack of being on here on that since I've actually had more time off work than normal !
But Stitch is doing well - he's been a bit grumpier than normal over the past week or so... Will sit in his cage and be all dark and then be fine a bit later; or go to pick him up for bath time, play time, etc and he'll go from light and happy to dark and cranky in 2 seconds..lol Not sure if he's got some hormonal breeding things happening or what ! But he's still eating a lot and putting on more weight slowly but surely :)
Sydney has had a few cranky moments as well over the past 10 days- she'll get darker and blow her little beard out - (hormones anyone ?) but hers seem to be more related to get me out of my dumb cage! As when she's picked up she calms down and is much happier colors. During one of my "Snow days" (YAY off from work !) instead of being productive and cleaning the disaster that is my house right now, I watched movies and had her snuggled in on my chest for a good portion of the afternoon :D We both enjoyed it and it was WAY better than cleaning I'm sure!
No pictures right now, so Sorry for that. I'll do better at the updating! Promise ! Thanks for asking about us all Katrina! I hope you are all doing well too :)

I fed Stitch some superworms this afternoon , much to his delight ! Sydny saw me feeding him and literally flew off her hammock and started dancing at the glass. FEED ME TOO FEED ME TOO! So being a good slave I couldn't resist and gave her some too :) After Stitch finished off the worms he was running around the tank and glass dancing and head bobbing... so after a few minutes I decided to let him out and give him a bath so at least he'd stay nice and warm. Well after the bath he was quite upset to be heading back to his tank so I told him that he could play for a few minutes and then back into the tank for basking and digesting. After leaping from the couch to the floor he sprinted to the bedroom (one of the doors we always close...) so I hop up, run after him and close the door just as he gets there. He turned and gave me a glare and then immediately sprinted to the other side of the house (where the other 2 rooms that we close off are) He ran straight through into the guest bedroom, ran about 1/2 into the room and stopped. I'm right behind him so I tell him to get a good look and he proceeds to head bob the room. MY ROOM. So after he basked in the satisfaction of claiming another room in his (our, my) house I scooped him up and closed off the doors. He sprinted around the house for a couple minutes and then ran right to the Christmas tree (Yes, we still have it up... for the beardies...lol) adn climbed up to take a nap. He wasn't impressed when I plucked him from the tree and put him back into the tank. Poor Stitch :)

Awwwwwwwww, sounds like you and the gang had a great time while you were out of work, don't you just love those hang around and cuddle days? Stitch is doing so well, what a difference from when you got him...........the tree still up huh? What we do for our beardies, (now if you were to tell that to someone who didn't have beardies, they'd think you were nuts) but I TOTALLY understand. Your such a good beardie mommy!

Whenever Clovis splats somewhere to sleep, I pick him up and zip him in my hoodie, lying on my chest. He is snoozing there right now while the bleach dries on all of his stuff. I hope Stitch doesn't make many changes in the rooms that are now his! ;)

Right now Sydney is passed out snuggled in on the DH. Earlier she had wiggled her face just under his short beard, maybe to block the light ?, but either way it was really cute :) now shes just snuggled on his chest ! :D

it's so cute when they will hang out under a sweat shirt or hoodie or whatever else like that. I can do that with Sydney, but Stitch is usually more interested in running around and doesn't usually sit still very long  But Sydney was always my snuggle bunny from day one. She snuggled on me when I was at the breeders looking through all her babies (and she had quite a few!).

Apparently there was a hammock collapse.... Sydney either was too sleepy or too comfy to move... I totally cracked up when I saw her and just had to cut the lights on and take a picture !

Stitch on the other hand was quite comfy on his blankie

I thoroughly enjoyed reading all about Stitch & Sydney and Sprinkles and Pogo too. :) I can't wait to be able to let Toothless run and explore alot more. And when he starts cuddling (maybe he'll want to snuggle?) Thanks for sharing. I'm glad that Stitch got rescued!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
