Spyro, Ember, Toki, Taz, Rufus, and Scarlett-new pics

I have been lurking and commenting for awhile and realized I never introduced my babies.

Spyro is 4 months old and growing like a weed. He is full of energy, very curious, and fearless. He loves to torment my daschund. They have stare downs from Spyro's tank. The other day my daschund decided to take Spyro to the living room for play time. Needless to say I wasn't amused when I seen Buddy, the daschund, carrying Spyro! Thank goodness he didn't hurt my baby. Buddy no longer goes near Spyro after that incident.

Before I got Spyro we got Auzzie. Auzzie was a Christmas gift for my 15 year old son. She was sick from the day we got her. I took her to the vet weekly just to make sure she was doing okay. In February, I noticed that she wasn't gaining weight or growing. After another vet visit I find out she has pinworms. She finished the panacur, but still wasn't growing and started losing weight. From there I started feeding her baby food and critical care. She started being more alert and eating a little on her own. On March 11, the vet weighed her and she had gained 2g that week. We were impressed. On the 17th, she started wobbling when she walked. She didn't want to open her eyes and acted lethargic. This was about 6 pm. The next morning I get up and she has crawled up to her stuffed animal. Her breathing was very shallow and it looked like only one lung was functioning. Overnight she looked as if she lost 10g. I immediately wrapped her up and rushed to the vet. She passed away on the way there. I still question myself wondering what I did wrong. Looking back I realized that she was never well and I did everything possible to help her become a healthy, happy beardie.

On March 23, I made the mistake of going to Petco for my dogs some treats. Of course, my son makes a beeline for the beardies. The manager comes by and tells me they just got some new babies in and asked if I wanted to see them. It's bad when they know you in stores. When I go to the back and I am floored at how teeny these babies were. My eyes were drawn to my Ember. She was 4 1/2 in long and weighed 6.9g. I wasn't leaving without her. I have had her for 2 weeks now and tonight she decided to snuggle in my hair and go to sleep. This made my night.

Now I have a Bassett Hound, a daschund, a shih-tzu, two fish, and my two babies!

He really wanted to see Ember. I haven't allowed them together.

I also just wanted to say thank you to everyone on this site. I have learned so much about beardies from reading the posts.

Thank you! The only time they are all out at the same time is when I put them to bed. I always have blankets between them so there are no fights. Ember waited until Spyro was asleep and kept getting closer to him. Ember is my sweetest dragon. Nothing stresses him. Since I have him the only time I see him with stress marks is when he is going through a full body shed. He loves going places with me and getting attention. :roll:

We (okay - *I*) would love to get a 2nd BD, but I know that I would have to keep them apart. I would feel bad if I took one out and left the other one in his/her tank. I know it's possible, because I see your pics and others' pics. Maybe next year ... If Eric changes his mind about the sand boa.

Thank you! I do feel bad sometimes when I have one out and not the others. Ember is the youngest and really calm. He stays really close to me, if we are on the couch he stays within foot from me. Ember has never been spastic and tried to run. Toki is the oldest and has the same personality as Ember. She will explore the couch but hasn't shown any interest in getting down (I rescued her not long ago). Spyro is my crazy one. He LOVES getting into everything and going everywhere. He likes to climb curtains and anything else he can get a grip on. I can have them out together with my son sitting with Ember or Toki, me with the other, and Spyro acting like a nut. LOL

I am convinced the puppy is satans spawn! He attacks anything that moves, except my dragons. The dragons have let him know to back off!

You inspired me to hold 2 dragons at once for sleepy snuggle time. Thank you. It sure was a time saver, and they both got along just fine wrapped in their blankets.

I am so glad Esther! I was worried the first few times, but I get them out about 5 minutes apart just in case one doesn't want to sleep.

Thank you! I love being able to snuggle with all of them at night. When I got Toki, I never realized how much it would bother Spyro. Spyro is wild! He stays up an hour or more after bedtime. He escapes from his blanket and runs around on the couch licking everything. Hopefully, he will calm down soon.

Ember is about to shed. I can't wait to see his colors. He looks so miserable right now, I feel bad for him. I have been making his daily bath water a little deeper on one side so he can swim. He loves swimming in the tub when he is going through a full body shed.

Check out Embers stink eye! He is just a little grumpy. :lol:

Mushu is the same way. Last night before bed he curled up on my chest to sleep. Stayed like that for ten minutes, next thing I know he's taking a flying leep onto my ice cream sandwich :roll: I guess he wanted some dessert, lol. I'm pretty sure both our babies will calm eventually.

Spyro was different today. I thought I had his view of Toki blocked, but there was a spot he had a clear view of her. :roll: Now that his view is completely blocked, he has calmed down a lot.

Ember still hasn't shed. He swam in the tub for about 30 minutes today. I had to take him out so I could bathe the others.

Toki still won't eat any veggies. I got some baby arugula for her to try tomorrow. Hopefully she will at least try it.

Today, I swallowed my fear and sat Ember down in the yard. :shock: He did so good! He was really alert and not the least bit stressed. Of course, I had to take pictures. He still hasn't started shedding yet.

Those outside pictures of him are great, he sure looked relaxed. Bet Alex would love the 2nd or 3rd pictures for the calendar. Might want to remember just where they are as next month he will be making requests for us to start sending them in.
