So how did your beardies get their names?

There are so many interesting names I see here on these boards, I'm just curious how did we come up with them?
Freddie was named after the Beardie in Nims' Island. Bad movie, Jody Foster is just so wrong in that role. But anyways, my 9 year old daughter who had wanted a Beardie for a while announced that when we get a beardie she's gonna name him Fred. And she did, and HE really is a he named Fred. I was worried that it would havta be Frederina for a while. That's my boring story. Liz

My wife was introducing our new baby beardie to our 19 month-old daughter. She was telling her that is was a "Baby Lizard." My daughter pronounced that as Ba-loo and it stuck (and Baloo is the best character in Jungle Book, IMHO).

I like Greek mythology based names (although only two of my dragons have them :? )

My first beardie's name in Nero (and a tyrant he is :mrgreen: )
My husband named Sweetie-Boo... he started calling her Sweetie the moment we got her and I just added 'Boo'. Now when I say her name is sounds more like 'Sweeeee-Boo"
Our rescue... when we got him his name was Zilla. Then his personality changed and combined with the "what the heck!?" looks I get from him, I changed his name to Dude.

And the baby... Calliope.

We had a fire red baby boy who recently passed away and his name was Hades. If and when we get another little boy, his name will be of Greek mythology as well.

Well Blaze got his name bacause of his bright orange colours like a fires blaze.

Killian got his name because I have always named animals after alcohol, and he was "vicsious"(sp) so I wanted a name that sounded brute so Killian fit. ((after the beer))

Blazes name was **almost Jager. haha

Lily got her name because my SO was looking through a grocery store ad. Well she came upon the flowers and was just being a goof, saying what about this flower for a name. She came to the peace lily and as soon as she said it, I popped my head up and said that fits. :lol: My first dragon was named Ifrit and I got that name from the Final Fantasy games.

I have almost all of them and the last 3 I have bought are still waiting to be played. I'm also 29 (well until tomorrow :lol: ). If I get any more beardie's I'll probably name them after more characters.

Lucille's full name is Lucille 2, because Arrested Development is one of my favorite shows and the relationship between Lucille 2 and Buster is so darn funny. So we had Lucille 2 and Buster but Buster passed away from impaction, vet said he wasn't digesting properly. Then we got Tobias also Arrested Development character but Tobias passed away also, vet didn't know why, he just plain old starved him self. He went from being super healthy to not healthy and vet couldn't pin point it.
Now we have Stella he came to use with a girls name
and Locke is Locke because Jon Locke is the coolest person on Lost and I would like to be him.

My beardie Harley got his name because my fiance and I are bikers, and love Harley Davidson's motorcycles. It just seemed like a good name. Buddy got his name because when my fiance first rescued him he said "don't worry I will take care of you little Buddy", and ever sense he has been called Buddy.
