So how did your beardies get their names?

There are so many interesting names I see here on these boards, I'm just curious how did we come up with them?
Freddie was named after the Beardie in Nims' Island. Bad movie, Jody Foster is just so wrong in that role. But anyways, my 9 year old daughter who had wanted a Beardie for a while announced that when we get a beardie she's gonna name him Fred. And she did, and HE really is a he named Fred. I was worried that it would havta be Frederina for a while. That's my boring story. Liz

my beardie's name is onyx. and i was just thinking of something that relates to rocks, or outside desert rocky sorta kinda area. lol
and i thought onyx sounded pretty cool. so there you go!

My son will love that, it's a Rock Pokemon name :wink:

hahaha. yea it is a rock pokemon's name. wow that was like fourth grade for... something like 12 years ago. haha
i like the name onyx though.

I also named mine puff. I wanted to call him fluffy, but my wife didn't like it, so i thought of puff the bearded dragon.

ok ok so we are all forgetting about the best dragon - hairy beast of them all falkor from the never ending story which was one of my fav movies when i was growing up i allways wanted a huge flying dragon as a kid to pick me up and take me away but it never happend fast foward to 20 years later i came across this dragon that captured my heart like falkor did way back then and it was settled he was to b my falkor even tho he cant fly we can still pretend lol

Nitro got his name beause it fits his personality. He's death on crickets lol. Ace got his name because he beat the odds. He never opened his eyes until he was about 7 months old. He's 8 months today.

Well, I got my beardie a week ago this past Friday and I had a name in mind. I'm a huge Lord of the Ring fan- so I called him Gandalf... but after about a day my friend Mary reminded me that is her Albino Catfish's name :'(
Immediately I thought if that "hairy looking dragon" that won my heart as a child- FALKOR! So, that's what I named him... It's a great name and something that has meaning (what a magical friend he would have been as a kid

I named Ryuuku after the anime character in Death Note with the same name. They look so similar, don't they?

Seriously though, I just like the name. Me being such a huge anime nut the name would have had to come from some anime... I would have loved to name him some with meaning like my screenname, Heisei, which means something along the lines of world peace, or peace for everyone (a word created and used as the name of the current era in Japan); but I really don't think he cares about anyone or anything other than being fed...

HYPOrollo, I've always really liked the name Shion (she-own).

we went through so many names! puff.flip.spinx. but we stuck with albert because of the t.v programe the royal family uncle albert has a massive beard...bearded dragon...and so it was lol

This is Puff and Whizz Puff is my daughters and she named him after puff the magic dragon
Whizz was named because of the speed he ran around his viv when we picked him up

This is Crooke Crooke was named because of his crooked tail also when he was glass dancing he was always stood crooked cos he rested on his tail

This is Spike RIP he was named as the pattern on his back was all spikey unfortunately he passed away 5 days after we had her
