The reptisun 5.0 compact bulb?
Never use a compact, coil, reptiglo, ESU, or generic UVB. All of these can be harmful to your beardie.
Better choice of UVB would be a Reptisun 10.0. Here's a link to where you can order one online;

Please remove and replace the bulb your using asap.

If you google the reptisun 5.0 in the upper right of this page you will find alot of discussions about that bulb.

Hello,

The Reptisun 5 flourescent tube bulb is fine at 6-8 inches away from your dragon. Make sure that a bright white light is placed directly beside the Reptisun 5 flourescent tube bulb to enhance the basking area. This also helps to protect the eyes as well. Here is a chart to show you the UVB emissions of this light. It is not a real strong light, but, it is safe. So you will need to replace it in 4-6 months. Maybe you could upgrade to the Reptisun 10 after that, for a stronger light.
