Christina is says, 300g-0.3ml, because they don't want you to give the full strength of the regular to a beardie under that weight of 300grams.

The size of the bottle is the same they are all one ounce it's the concentration that makes the difference in regular to XL. Look at the size for each Regular and XL here.... http://www.chameleonsnorthwest.com/reptaid4.htm Only difference is price.

Copied from that link.... this is what I'm trying to point out to you...if the bottle is the same size, 1 ounce, and there are approx. 300 doses per bottle the concentration must be different. Right?

Reptaid: $24.97 per 1oz. bottle.

ReptaidXL: $30.97 per 1oz. bottle.

Approximately 300 doses per bottle.

Example
If I were using the regular for a beardie that weighs 334 grams then they would get 0.3ml but since I use the XL concentration this same beardie would only get 0.03ml.

Does that help with the confusion any?

I thought I was ok. I figured since he is 600g he would get .6 of the regular reptaid- if it was xl he would get .06. I think I just panicked today- it's always worrying when you are tryig something different! I was also worried about the level of etyl alcohol- I figured the regular probably has a higher level of that in there. But then that is just an assumption.
I will see how Kazi is tomoro. Il maybe go up to .5ml (I have a feeling today's episode may have taken a lot out f him and he could well be below the 600g mark now. He finds weighing very stressful so I would rather not weigh him before his reptaid in the morning!

Christina sweetie...with all that the Wee~Kazi~man puts you through I don't see how you couldn't be confused.
I don't think I'd even know my name anymore. LOL
I understand the using of new things oh to well...I use to panic like crazy when using with mine...cuz there's so many different weights of beardies in my house. I once double dosed on accident, but spoke with Elliot an on occasion they do double dose with some reptiles depending on the severity of the illness.
I've never had any ill affects show up in my beardies using this product(doesn't mean it's not possible just I haven't experienced any yet)...there has always been some type of improvement...not all will benefit the same from it. Kind of like us humans and meds. My daughter swears by Alieve however it does next to nothing for me unless I take more than suggested...I'd benefit better from IBprofen.

Actually, Barbara, Elliot mentioned to me that I could give 2 doses per day but to contact him and he would help me with that. Iv decided against that for now but I will see how things go with this round.
We have just went through so many different meds and supplements recently that my head is spinning with med names and individual doses. Even simple things like liquid calcium dosing for Huff- I'm having to double check the dosing chart everyday because I just can't remember!
I'm not expecting Reptaid to 'cure' him- I basically am using the reptaid to flush his system and help lower counts... If it ends up helping more than that, I will be VERY happy!
I guess it is like us- a simple painkiller will do me but my hubby needs 2 ibuprofen to even feel a slight relief!!

I haven't used is for about 2 years, more or less. If I remember correctly, you need to give the dosage based on your beardies weight. Give him some for a few days. If he has parasites or something, feed him the dosage for 10 days, then 10 days off.

Hi guys, I got my reptaid back in February or so this year, and I used it for some time at that point, due to parasites.
I have kept the reptaid in the fridge since then (and once the fridge broke for 8 hours) and I wonder if the solution is still good enough, or expired? I cannot manage to find any info at all regarding this. It does not smell nearly as much anymore, so I am suspecting it is basically not at all as potent anymore, am I right?

Please, no SPECULATIONS thanks! :p

Was thinking about giving this a try. My first thought is does this actually work, bc my beardie boss has a poor appetite and has a severe case of pin worms.

hi there!

It is sure worth a try, no matter what, it is a very very good solution to have for any beardies, even for preventive causes...
Read through the tread ( I mean it ) and make your own conclusions from that, there is an enormous amount of statements that points to that it really does help even for infestations, and not only fussy eaters!

Just make sure you do fecals, and even though maybe not all parasites will go away, perhaps it can perk your dragon up...
As has been mentioned hundreds of times, make sure you keep your dragon very hydrated, as BOTH meds and natural remedies such as this one tends to dehydrate em..
Also; Natural acidophiles (spelling?) is very very good for digestive track; Simply get a SOY yoghurt without ANY added stuff, and it works perfect. Then use the top of a baby feeder (the rubber thing) and put it on top of a syringe, and just put some on top of the nose of your beardie, and it should lick by itself. As an alternative, if needed with the meds, you can try to open the mouth by (slight force ). Just tell me if you need help with that later.. :)

Post before is right on. Use plastic tip syringe not metal and be gentle and hope it helps.

Bye,
Scott

P.S. found star dragons and rescue to be very helpful, can find online or get back and send link.

Do fecal every 3 to 6 months so keep heads up on things. Hopeful you have Vet. give you good price if do that often. I believe in give soy yogurt for healthy Probotics, but I also used in capsule that powder that you keep in refig. Because I had it for myself I used it for them, sprinkle on like calcium powder like once month, but some may not eat that so then go with soy yogurt or baby food like squash add it in, be like pinch per teaspoon I believe. Last remember what alkemisten3 said cause it was right on, you can which I do as preventive give it to once every 3 months. Help with good number of sick B.D. and most respond well doing this, but remember fecal test lets you know if need Vet..

Best Regard's

Hi all,

Let me start my introducing myself, as I am new to this site and new to beardies as well! :) My name is Brooke, and my beardie is Lola. She is a 5 month old Citrus Leatherback, 10 inches & almost 60 grams now. I've had her about 2 months now, I got her shipped to me in New Jersey from a breeder in California. When she arrived, she was very stressed. Her normal pure white chin and belly were black as can be, she was very scared and just hid in her cage. Before I got her I made sure I did all my homework, read just about everything there is to read about beardies habitat, food, illnesses, setup, lights, etc. She is in a 40 gal breeder tank with tile substrate, reptisun 10.0 uvb, her basking is 107-115 measured with digital thermo w/ probe, 90-95 warm side and 82-85 cool side. She has a hammock, stick or rock to choose from to bask on, vines, leaves, rocks and sticks to climb and play on, she has a buffet to choose from with crickets, supers, dubias, horn worms, butters and waxies as treats, collard/mustard/turnip greens mixed with butternut squash or sweet potato. When she arrived, I was expecting her to be stressed, so her not moving around her viv or wanting to eat the 1st few days seemed normal to me. I taped paper to the sides of her viv so she would feel more secure, and theres a background on it so she doesnt see her reflection, but after 2 weeks she still had not eaten, poo-ed or explored her cage. I started to get worried, but the whole time I was in contact with the breeder who kept telling me everything was fine and she just needed to settle in. I started giving her warm baths everyday to try to get her to poo, fed her applesauce and squash babyfood, but she still wouldnt go and one day when i was rubbing her belly in the bath I felt a lump, so I immedietly called every vet around trying to find an experienced herp vet who would see her asap. This was a friday and noone could see her until monday morning, so I went ahead and made the appointment and kept a very close eye on her. That weekend she still did not eat anything or poo, so monday morning came and right before the appointment, she went to the bathroom (phew) but it was runny and I just wanted to be safe and took her anyway. Her fecal came back clean and the vet said she is healthy, just overly stressed and told me to just continue what I was doing. So at this point it had been 2 1/2 weeks since I got her and still didnt eat. I could get her to take a little slurry of chicken & squash babyfood, but only maybe 1 or 2 cc's which isnt much. FINALLY she accepted a cricket from me! It was only one, but I was so happy! lol, so she would eat maybe 5 crix a day (nothing, i know) for about 4 days, maybe increasing a cricket a day, but then went into shed and back to food strike she went. When I got her she was 50 grams, and at this point she was down to 38-40 ish. She had never once touched the salad I gave her everyday and she started to look dehydrated to me. Sunken eyes, wrinkly skin...so I started bathing her 2x a day in 1/2 pedialyte & replaced her waterbowl with the same mixture (she drinks out of it like a dog LOL) and used a medicine dropper to drip it on her nose a few times a day. She started to look less dehydrated, but at this point I had had her over a month, she had only eaten maybe 15 crix the whole time i had her, and only poo-ed that once because she had nothing to let out! She was down to 35 grams, still never moved in her cage, just layed around all day in the same place, just looked miserable and it was breaking my heart. I asked the breeder about Reptaid and she told me she would not reccomend it. I sat on the computer for about 2 hours reading every review I could find on Reptaid, and against the breeders advise, went ahead and ordered it. And boy am I happy I did! It has been 9 days now, but I noticed a change on day 2 of treatment. She ate 12 crickets on the second day, and started to wander around her cage. By day 3, she was eating 10 crickets per sitting and chasing them herself (which she never did, if she was going to eat, mommy was going to hand feed her! lol)and was actively exploring/climbing and poo-ed (a lil runny, but not bad). Day 4, wow, she was running full speed around her cage, climbing all over, jumping from stick to rock to hammock to vine to stick, etc, ate almost 50 crickets all day, poo-ed AGAIN, and it was nice and firm/solid. Day 5, same thing, and even ate 1/2 of her salad for the 1st time EVER!:) Now its day 9, she has poo-ed everyday since then, still firm, eating 50+ crickets a day, some supers/dubias/butters, but crickets are her favorite (blah), eats at least 1/2 of her salad everyday (I put alot LOL) still runs around, her belly and chin are back to white, and she is up to almost 60 grams!!! thats 20grams in 10 days!!!! This stuff is AMAZING! I cannot reccomend it enough. I thought there was nothing I could do since she was not "sick", but I am so glad I got this product, and even feel better just knowing I now have it on-hand. I plan on seeing how she is during the 2 day off period, but if shes okay, I am not going to do another 10 days, but if she seems to loose her appetite again, I probably will just to be safe. Reptaid made my Lola (and ME!) very happy! Unfortunetly I dont have any pics, but will try to get some on here! (maybe someone can explain to me how i go about that? :) lol) Sorry I wrote a book, I just am extremely estatic how great this product has helped my girl! Hope this will help someone!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
