Recommend a Place to buy a Dragon

I need to find a good place to buy a bearded dragon, I have had 2 from PetSmart in the last yr and both have died in less that 6 months. I want o know if it would be better to buy from a breeder online? Thanks in advance.

I prefer to get my own from a breeder or private owner, because of the vast ignorance that surrounds reptile care at the average pet shop chain.

I bought a very nice nice boy from Baltimore Beardies in the spring, and he has done very well. Tom at BB also supports his customers/BDs an dis available for questions, etc.. http://www.baltimorebeardies.com/

mate i am sorry to hear of your past beardies.
There are alot of good breeders on this site that would be able to help you or recommend some1 to you. You could also search for local reptile clubs or webpages and try and see if some1 deals dragons.
I would not buy one from a petshop as SOME pet shops tend to specialise in other animals and really don't know much about dragons. I feel that dragon sellers should have experience with reptiles and especially dragons.

Maybe you should go over your setup with us too just as a precaution to let us help and see if there is something you are missing or that the petstore is recommending that may be contributing to the health of your babies. Petstores don't always give the best advise as they are there to sale and are not always properly trained.

I see your in NY, On Jan 23rd in White Plains there is a really good reptile show. There are several breeders there including myself.

I am not lucky enough to have one of Tom ( TND Dragons)'s beardies, yet!, but I have seen him at a few reptile shows, and would recommend him to everyone!! Gorgeous dragons, properly taken care of, healthy....and so darn sweet!!!
