***REBEL'S OFFICIAL THREAD*** 7/8/11 (question)

i know that i have made about 1000 different topics about rebel so finally i have decided too make a tread about here and our everydayy adventures so plzz comment and tell me what you think about it or the pictures and about our crazyy days or you can even just tell me how our dayy releted too yours and your beardies day and the wild times yall have been through together

this is how me and rebel met
i adopted a beardie and her name is REBEL is about a year old but i have only had her for 4 months. rebel got her name because at the pet store where i adopted her at said that she was agressive and not really a good pet because her old parents never held her so she stayed in her cage pretty much all the timeand when you go too pick her up she would just wiggle and wiggle. so i adopted her because when i saw the she looked like she was smiling at me, i adopted her for free and bought her cage and everything else. i love rebel too death and i will never give her up for anything no matter what.

I'd say it wouldn't matter as long as the beardie couldn't eat it. That might rule out some of the aquarium plants, for example. Also bear in mind how difficult it might be to clean and sanitize each piece. Something with a lot of crevices will be tougher to do than something smooth. On the rougher things, you might have to soak them rather than wipe them down.

"if you dont want kids get a lizard" i now know what that means because rebel is just like my own child lol she is expensive, nagging, and almost potty trained but i wouldnt give her away for a million bucks but we go through the same thing everydayyy

7:00am-wake up, get dresses, CHANGE REBEL FOOD, WATER AND CLEAN THE POOP OUT THE CAGE
8:00AM-summer school
1:00pm-CHANGE REBEL'S FOOD (IF WATER HAS POOP IN IT CHANGE THAT TOO)
9:00pm-CHANGE FOOD (IF WATER HAS POOP IN IT CHANGE THAT TOO) READ HER A CHAPTER OF WHATEVER BOOK WERE READING THEN MY FAVORET PART OF THE DAYY FOR HER.........BEDTIME

mondays-flip repti carpet
tuesday-bath, and millworm dayy
wensday-flip carpet, cricket dayy, meds
thursdayy-bath, millworm dayy
friday-clean carpet
once a month full cage clean out and disinfect

well this is my and rebel weekly and monthly thing lol i never get tired of doing it the only thing i hate is meds and thats because it gets everywhere haha

well i have a problem on my hands yesterday rebel's uv light went out due too a power short. right now my mom is not working so i can afford a new uv light bulb right now and trying too keep that cage hot at night is driving me insane i put a heating pad on the side of the cage that she lays and she laied on that wall all night i had too wake up every hour too let the heating pad cool off for 10-20 mins. so i got like no sleep last night but she slept like a baby. during the day is easy because the sun shines right in my window or should i sayy her window.

so i need everyone's help right now

how will it effect rebel without that uv light bulb at night??

are there any other ways that i can keep that cage hot during the night??

does anybody know where their selling any uv lights for a good price??

1) I actually don't think that she needs a UVB bulb during the night- just daytime. As long as you take her outside for a few hours every day, she should get all the UVB she needs. I don't really know where to get a good deal on a new bulb, though- anyone?

2) Ceramic heat emitters work well, and they generally cost about 15-20 dollars. Just take out her basking bulb at night and replace it with the CHE, then switch them out again in the morning.

She's gorgeous, by the way! I don't know if the mealworms are a good idea- from what I've heard, they can wreak havoc on a beardie's digestive system. She certainly looks nice and healthy, though!!

thnk you so much for telling me about the bulbs and everything else. and i no she is drop dead grogeous lol :-D lol. she is very healthy and active. the millworms i hear lot about but she has been eating once a week for a while now and it wasnt really affected anything, but i was giving them too her twice a week and she started getting fatter so i cut down the amount and how meny times a dayy i give them too her

yeaa she does love him lol she loves him alot more then she does me and im her mama lol. whenever i take her out of her cage she she goes all around the house looking for him and im just like well what am i chopped liver lol. last night i was putting him too sleep and rebel was laying on the pillow right next too him falling asleep and i was like o wow these 2 here it was so cutee. i guess rebel dumped me for my baby brother
