I got a leopard gecko and I thought they were supposed to be very timid, calm and handle-able. But the one I got is very aggresive to the point were he bites, any help?

O and I've had him for a few weeks now. I've tried to handle him almost every day but he hasn't gotten better.

it depends on how you hold them/pick them up not sure how you've been doing this but ....
1: try to leave them alone while napping of course
2: put your hand in front of them and gently give them a poke on the butt so they crawl into your hand
3: let them have run of your hands for a few minutes then put them back
4: if they open their mouth like they are threatening you be ready with a worm or some other treat to drop in their mouth
they can either eat it or continue being mad..they always just eat it then look all confused because they cant figure out why they where mad
5: remember to not let them get their way by putting them down or they will continue to act aggressive towards you.
6: it takes time :blob8:

Yes they are nocturnal. My leo took about a month to get used to us picking her up. I would try just placing your hand in the viv, with your palm up, and let the leo get to know your scent. Also it will get more used to having you near. Some of them are more skittish than others. Be patient and it will eventially warm up to you.

I generally turn out the light, wait a while to let her wake up, and then give her a worm or 2 before attempting to pick up Lizzy. She really doesn't like being handled either, although she's never tried to bite me! However, that's because she went a year or so without really being handled at all, so she might not ever like it at this point. Mostly she just tries to escape, and I'm afraid of holding her to hard or scaring her so bad she drops her tail on me. (she's too soft! bearded dragons are much safer feeling to handle, lol)

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
