Thanks so much Christine. I have to be honest, the hole in my heart got a little bigger with each one I lost, a total of 5. I promise, I will give you the shortened version of all of it. Widge was the 1st to pass, he was our one-eyed beardie that must have been stepped on while he was in the egg and he had some other deformities as well, we had him about 2 1/2 yrs, he had some GG in him and was such a gentle giant at almost 24" long, I had to have Sabrina put to sleep on May 31st, 2011 due to 3 bad MVB's which caused her body to not be able to absorb her supplements sufficiently so she had walking difficulties in her back legs but she continued to be happy and to play her games, but when she couldn't pull herself around with her front legs any longer and lost her quality of life, I had to do the last thing that I could do for her, have her put to rest at 7 yrs old, Gizmo was 8 yrs old and went downhill after Sabrina died, had 2 stubborn URI's that we treated him for but seemed to never really get healthy again, he died in February of this yr, I'm not sure what happened to Misty but I'm thinking that instead of laying her 4th infertile clutch, something went wrong and her body started absorbing them instead which affected her liver, that was a real shock, she died on May 29th, almost a yr to the day since Sabrina died, Judas was almost 10 yrs old but may have been older, he was doing amazingly well, never brumated this winter, guess that was his last hoorah as he kept us entertained with his shenanigans and always made us laugh, we noticed he was slowing down and was starting to tire easily although he still managed to keep us on guard while he was trying to rearrange items on the kitchen table, etc, I guess his body just got tired and he felt that if he couldn't be as active and full of it as he had been for so many years, he didn't want to go on any longer. The day we got Angeline (Angie) from a member on this forum that lives in Colorado, Josh was showing her to Judas and he went limp in his hands, died a few hours later. We honestly believe that he stayed with us long enough for us to get another beardie so that we would have another to love and occupy our time. They were all SO unique and so VERY special, we miss them all................
Digi and Pookie's babies are going to be hatching out the end of this month and Gina very nicely ( :love5
offered us one of their babies, probably a male which will actually be Misty's nephew, Pookie looks a lot like Judas too so since we didn't have any luck getting Judas & Misty to breed, we figured this would be the closest that we could get to still having part of them with us. This new baby will be Josh's as Judas was his own and in his room, the empty tank still tears his heart out. So, we are awaiting this new little baby to help fill our lives with some more wonderful beardie loving.
