Quality of Life

Hi, I'm a first time poster. I have a bearded dragon named Thorne, female hypo leather-back, around 9 and half years old. She had been lethargic on and off through the last few years and had been going through a good streak but then she became more lethargic then usual, often reluctant to eat, wouldn't drink on her own and almost entirely ceased her usual enthusiasm for exploring the house (supervised of course). I had been chalking it up to her age and the cooler weather but a couple weeks ago I saw her star gazing. When I picked her up she seemed disoriented and even when she stopped she kept her head tilted at a 45 degree angle for the rest of the night.
I took her to the vet and besides being malnourished and dehydrated, he found no other obvious issues and believes this was one of 3 things, parasites(proved not to be the case), calcium deficiency (possible but based on her care may not be the main issue) or the 3rd Atadenovirus. He mainly thinks this because of her total of symptoms and the atrophy in her legs. She wont be able to anything but belly walk from now on. As Thorne has not been around a another bearded dragon since she was less than 2, my roommate had one too but they were housed separately, he thinks its likely she might have contracted it before or shortly after she hatched. It's possible for a beardie to go this long without symptoms, although not common. There were tests to confirm it but he felt while its an option, there no treatment for it even if it was what it was. With hand feeding a supplement slurry and water via syringe she is already improving, gaining weight running around, albeit on her belly. Tonight I saw her titling her head again and was again disoriented after less than an hour she was back to normal and is again exploring
Thus the point. I want to be sure that she is not suffering in any way and want to be sure there's nothing more I can do. The vet assured me she isnt in pain but it still must be distressing for her ad want to make accommodations where I can and watch for any signs that she is suffering. She hasnt been bearding and she's not dark and had been enthusiastically eating and drinking but want to know i there's anything else I can look for

I feel for you- it is hard to watch them deteriorate in front of your eyes- I am flagging your post to Tracie our vet tech - she can better answer your questions -

Don't get discouraged.
They can live with ADV

Parasites are generally pretty easy to treat.
If you know what you're doing.
I'm not 100% on the calcium deficiency.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
