Psycho - the name fits! (updated pictures)

But here is an update for those of you who knew we took in a rescue mid-July ... we did officially name him Psycho, he is nuts. I do honestly believe there are a few other animals trapped inside that psychotic little mind of his. Sometimes he thinks he's a 10-foot dragon. Sometimes he acts like a cat. Sometimes he is just a big old marshmallow wanting some love.

He is slowly fattening up, his wrinkles under the chin have all filled in nicely, and his sides too... This guy has a voracious appetite! Loves dubia, loves hornworms, will try and morph thru the glass to get to the supers... and of course, still our fingers, too.

We also found out the hard way to WEAR SOCKS at all times.. he has a foot fettish, and likes to chomp toes (sorry, CJ! honest, that nail will grow back!)

Oops, no one saw that, right? (he's a jumper and has been found on his branches numerous times like this:

Poor guy had a whole body shed after starting to gain some weight... he was NOT a happy camper!

Don't look at me, I'm shedding...

He also likes to wait for Crash or Xena to come play peek-a-boo at the edge of his cage... this little booger will lower his head, then wave like a sissy, lower his head another 1/2 inch, then CHARGE the side of the cage with his mouth wide open, like "I'm gonna eat yer eyeballs out!"

He is definitely a comical addition to this family, hubby (Carl) told me this:
"I know you've gotten attached... and you know we cannot rehome him, because he's been thru so much... you cannot do that to him, so give it up, he's ours"... haa haa, he's attached too! :mrgreen:

already did a couple weeks ago, I guess Alex did a major overhaul a short time back, so I waited a few weeks before starting this one... so I'll just keep it updated. We took him in 7/20/09 -- he weighed in at 391, and I thought my scale was acting funny... I swear he was so skinny, he looked more like around 300 grams...

But last weekend's weigh-in puts him at 554... and he's just plain acting so much happier. He loves those hornworms, we're breeding those, so he gets a bowl of little ones which he happily snaps up! He does still snarf his first 1/2 of each meal like it's the last he'll ever see, so time hopefully will heal his abuse / neglect.

He's turning out to be a sweet dragon. :love5:

Psycho really turned around quick. He looks great! And I definitely could see how his beard had filled in.

Ok, so Psycho apparently doesn't know what brumation is. Crash and Xena are officially lumps under the logs (haa haa) -- Xena, our resident garbage compactor hasn't even come out for worms! :shock: just getting the hairy eyeball looks when we offer them. And Crash just lays there, like "whaddya want" ... Psycho, on the other hand, still makes a gawdawful racket jumping up his logs, trapsing back-and-forth to his dishes to see what's available this hour, and just to check on that worm tank he spots... this boy doesn't know how to sit still (reminds me of my ADHD son haa haa!)

Ok, so we've gone and upset the master (Psycho still thinks he's king of the roost) ... Psycho is giving us the hairyeyeball look all day, because we brought yet another baby into the house, and Psycho soooo doesn't approve. I'll try and get pics and a thread started in the next couple days... newb has bad MBD issues, he's a full-tilt rescue, a doorstop dump of "take this dragon in or he'll be let loose"... AARGH What's wrong with people!

This newbie is sooo small, and so skinny. Scoliosis. Major twists & kinks in his tail. He has the most adorable little face, he reminds us of Jasper's Mom's Phineas -- our little guy can come close to closing his mouth, but not completely... he has more of the left/right skew to his jaw, like a severe underbite. As soon as I can find some more batteries, I'll be getting pics, pics, pics. Let me forewarn you, he'll steal your heart when you see his pics... he's already got his hooks into ours :love5:

ooh, Psycho's lookin' at newbie like he's a snack. NOT! C'mon, you know I couldn't leave him to die, but he's so tiny... and with some seriously different spike patterns, I wonder if he may be a Rankins dragon. We'll get him all weighed / measured etc.
