Oh my, those frillies are absolutely gorgeous. They truly look prehistoric!
You seem to be doing very well with them because i see little tummies on them! They look like they have gotten a lot bigger than the last photos!
Thanks for posting those, i look forward to seeing them when they're fully recovered. They'll be just that much more beautiful!

I'm glad you took that hour to upload them, cause your family is beautiful! I'm not a huge fan of birds but I LOVE owl finches. What kind is that dusty orange one? I think he's absolutely grorgeous. haha.

And I'm obsessed with horses, just not something I'm close to affording. They're both beautiful. If you don't mind me asking whats OTT stand for? I'm pretty familiar with horse breeds, I just can't think of a breed that is abbreviated as OTT haha.

You cat, your dog, your snakes, EVERYTHING you share your home with is beautiful. I'm so glad you shared those with us :)

Snootch is the Owl finch from the cat comic Ebenezer and Snootch online. Sam is the Orange Weaver you asked about. They can get a bit aggressive with other birds so you must referee if you have one not by himself. :study:

OTT = Off the Track. Pappy had a 8 year successful career as a race horse. :blob5: :blob8: :blob8: :blob5: :blob5: :blob8: :blob8:

He bowed a tendon. Thus the end. :( However since I do low level Dressage ,trail and fun stuff and we tendon boot him while working he stays solid for us. 8) In three years we had one swelling episode and that was when he was out of work, being a horse and messing around.

I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures :) I have a sleeping Tiantha on my chest right now. Oh and if anyone goes to see Bolt, the Bolt personality is Caleb to the T and Mittens is a girl Mason. I kid you not. :!:  :!:

This is Justin Bobby's housemate, Niko. He's my chihuahua that I miss so so much right now because he's been staying with my mom because he just got fixed :(
this guy...

If I ever got finches I would have to get owl finches. We have one female right now at the store I work at, and not too long ago she was so depressed because her mate had died. She slept by his little body and wouldn't leave it. Broke my heart, but she is doing MUCH better now. She is in with some Society's and she loves them. haha.

And poor Pappy. I've heard horror stories about those bowed tendons. I had a friend who had a quarter horse that she couldn't ride more than an hour without his swelling. Did you guys own him while he was a racer? I wish I would have learned dressage when i was younger and doing lessons, it looks like so much fun. Most I ever did was a little cross country and jumping.

I can't wait to see Bolt, it looks too cute. I love the hamster haha.

He had multiple owners as a racer. When his injury occurred he had won his last race the man who had him was VERY good about his horses. :D He put Pappy through proper medical care. :D He had been on light work for a few weeks already when I saw him. The injury occurred in July and he kept him at a farm for8 months or so before he even had him on the market. So we was sound and off his meds when I looked at him all 3 times.

He suggested as was proper very light work for the next 4 months. Pappy got to be a horse and monitor his own movements and do nothing but ground work at the farm. he didn't know how to lunge at all so if you can image a 1200 pound horse 16.2 learning how to be on a lunge line and getting so frustrated that he wasn't pleasing his handler as to just give in and come see her in the center every time.

That's pappy. As an off the Track T bred he should be Named Thats my mommy rather than Thats my Daddy

Don't let the media fool you. There are good owners and trainers on tracks in the US :) I know because I have met one.

I'm sure there are some great trainers and owners, or the sport wouldn't exist anymore! But I just would hate to have thought he had a worse life because of that tendon before you guys got him. That's great that the owner took care of him. I bet he was frustrated with lunging. ha ha man. It's like starting all over. I'm sure he just knew RUUUUUUN! How long have you owned him now?

I always wanted a thoroughbred or quarter horse. Better yet give me a TN Walker! I love tall horses. Loved them since I was 2 and I'm 21 now.

A little over three years and he knew run, trot, walk and forward with pressure....he now understands that a leg isn't JUST forward but can be side to side and his trot floats when engaged. :D

I met one TN Walker, 'Aces White Star' and she was a pacer and a doll to be around. I was a 4H'er back in the early 80's and was horseless rider. So it was not until I was in my 20's i could afford one and he was near a gift. :)

A TN Walker was what I learned to ride on. She was a black 14 year old female named Nightcap. She kept being passed off from owner to owner because either they became disabled, died, or just couldn't afford her anymore. She had such bad luck. I fell so much in love with that horse. But seeing as how I was 12 or so, there was nothing I could do to convince my parents that we could afford her and I would take care of her. Never found out what happened to her, but she was the most gentle horse and so patient with me.

Bah, anyways, I am hoping to get one in the next 2 years. My friends are looking at buying an old foreclosed house that has 8 acres of land and she said that if I got a horse, I could keep it there. So that's a possibility! I would be so excited haha.

Ohh, I didn't mention that they were at my store, not my own. :(
I have actually never had a bird!
My mom has an Amazon and an African Gray; when I visited her, I decided I wanted a parrot someday, they were too funny. :)

I dont't think i've ever met a nice parrotlet! Or lovebird for that matter. My lovebird used to draw blood on me all the time. I'd much rather have something like finches or canaries to listen to than a big bird which is like having a human child rather than just a bird. They act so human! And need so much attention! I love sun conures though.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
