Please Pray for Max

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers! Max is still with us however he is pretty yellow and pale. His seizures are fewer but I am really forcing him to eat now. Heard back from the vet and he said to just hang in there that it takes awhile to regenerate the liver. I am still worried about him going to the bathroom. He didn't at all today, and it seems like he is pushing to go but the bottom half of his body won't cooperate. Hoping to get him more hydrated this weekend since we will be around more. Again thanks for the prayers!

Took Max outside for the first time to lay in the "real" sun. I promised him more trips out if he would hang in there. He has kept his food down the last two times I fed him. But still no poop in nearly 2 days. Only giving him 2-3mls of babyfood chicken watered down with gatorade at a time. He seemed to enjoy it outside. Hope it wasn't his last trip out.

Hello,

If they did not do any blood work, are they sure it is liver issues??
I would treat for metabolic bone disease issues or low calcium problems right now too. I would supplement his calcium several times per week.
The fecal test came back negative? Which medications are being given right now?
It is hard to diagnose liver problems without a blood test or an x-ray or ultrasound to see if the liver is enlarged, etc.
I hope he starts doing better.

Thank you all for your prayers....

After Max came in from his first trip outside, he passed away 1/2 hour later...It was for the best, he was having such a hard time breathing. We will never know what was exactly wrong, but we know that we loved him, and he made an impact in our lives. We did everything we could...I am glad he is not suffering anymore but miss him terribly already. My son is having a much harder time with this than I expected. We will bury him in the morning and make a special place for him. Having a Bearded dragon has been a wonderful experience for us, I would do it again, just not sure it will be in the near future. We can't replace him

I am so sorry to hear that little Max crossed over. I am so glad he got out in the sun today. He knew you loved him very much. You did your best for him, and now he is in peace. Sincere condolences to all of Max's family.

I am so truly sorry to hear about your Max!! It is wonderful that you got to take him outside today before he passed. He knows how much you loved him and you did such a wonderful job loving him and doing your best for him. I am sitting here typing and wiping the tears away, it is so hard when you have been reading they're story and praying for them and they don't make it. Please give your son a hug from me and let him know he is in my thoughts and prayers,,you too.

I am so very sorry to hear about Max dying. I know you and your son loved him very much and he loved you right back and fought as hard as he could. It is SO hard when you don't have any answers as to what all the problems were. You tried everything you could and more. I am sorry that you and your son are hurting so badly, it doesn't take long to become so attached to them, they just melt your heart.

No beardie will ever replace Max. Perhaps one day Max will lead you to another beardie that needs some very special TLC that you both have lots of to give. All of them are very unique and very special. We are here if you want to talk, please remember that.

Thank you all for such support! This forum has been so helpful through all of this. My son is starting to feel better....We have been two nights without tears to sleep. I still miss him dearly and keep wondering if I did something wrong along the way, did I not clean the veggies well enough, did I not clean the tank with the right stuff, maybe he hurt himself from one of the times he jumped from my hands....oh the questions go through my mind daily. I really hope to get another one someday soon. It's amazing how empty our house feels without him here Again, thank you all for all your support!

I am so sorry about little Max, it is heartbreaking.
You did everything that you could do so don't blame yourself. He knew you loved him. He was a huge & special part of your family & I know how hard it is to lose one.
