Hello,

I am so sorry about Max having cryptosporidium! That is somewhat rare & can be difficult to treat.
What medication is he on for it?
Are you giving probiotics as well, along with the medication?
If his tummy is that upset, it is probably the medications causing his distress.
Are you keeping his tank around 80 at night, to help boost his immune system?

I received an email from the vet last night saying the stool sample came back negative for the parasite! ugg..... He clearly has something going on with his liver because he keeps turning yellow but mostly if he has been under his light, he darkens up at night when his light goes out and first thing in the morning...wierd? What could make his liver fail?

So this morning he took his food! Baby Food of course, he also lifted himself up to look at what the kids were doing too! The inside of his mouth is a lot LESS yellow and his skin is less yellow too. Thanks for all the prayers!!!! Keeping fingers crossed that we might be on the mend...

That is great news Max is looking a lot better today.
The liver does & can regenerate so hopefully it will start to get better. You can try using some colloidal silver to help with his system & boost his immune system.

Now What? This poor guy can not catch a break! This morning he was up and in pretty good spirits considering...Really didn't want to eat but I made him have some baby food apple and baby cereal mixed with gatorade. But he seemed more alert holding himself up and looking around, even moving around some on his own. Today when I get home I try to feed him and he would not really eat, so I let him be, took son to baseball came back tried again, but first thought I would give him a little soak since he had pooped and had it all over his tail, when I took him out of the bath it looked like some insides were coming out of his vent! not a ton but just a little enough to not look normal, whiteish. All around his vent was swollen, I gave him a little bit of squash and put him back in his tank...looked up what I saw and all I can find is seminal plug and prolapse. Don't think it is plug, could be prolapse. So I went in and checked him and it was back in but still pretty swollen around it. He has either been struggling to poop or it runs out of him. This poor thing, he is completely falling apart!

They say to soak his vent area in cool sugar water to help with the prolapse. I'm so sorry you both are having to go through all this. Please keep us posted. Hugs !

I hope he does not continue to prolapse. Keep him in a relatively soft food diet so his system doesn't have to work so hard to digest.
The medication can cause diarrhea & constipation combinations. Be sure to make sure he gets 2-4mls of oral fluids per day to help him out.

Thanks Tracie for all your advice! I am ready to scream!!!!!!!! The "prolapse" went away, the swelling has gone down. He isn't willing to eat through the syringe like he was and I am back at work so he doesn't get fluids throughout the day. Tonight, right back to having seizures! He has been without seizures since Saturday night.His saliva is kinda thick again, he hasn't started turning yellow...yet I HAVE to work, but I felt like he was doing better when I was able to give him liquid throughout the day. Is it okay for me to wake him up when lights out and give him more fluid?

So sorry about little Max!
How is he doing today, any improvements? Were you able to get fluids into him a little bit?
Was a blood test ever done on him, or no? I was just wondering if a blood test was done, what his calcium levels were?
You supplement with calcium 5 times per week with calcium powder? How old is he now? If he is older than 1 year, usually calcium is only needed 3 times or so a week, but I am not sure if he is having calcium issues, or not.
I am not sure why he would still be having seizures though. What parasite did the vet say that he had?

It could be calcium problems now, since he has been a good 3 weeks without much for calcium. However, the result came back neg for the parasite that he was treated for. His seizures came back on tuesday but seem to be gone today, that said he is bright yellow again, and does not want food anymore. I have all I can do to get his mouth open a teeny bit for the syringe. I have been mixing ReptAid with his gatorade trying to get him better hyrdrated. The problem is with all this liquid and baby food, he is going poop...if he does it is a teeny little piece that is sometimes yellow and sometimes a darkish red little lump. when he does try to go poop his vent does that inside out thing but goes back in after a little while. Today he looks super puffy his right side looks slightly larger than his left and sometimes he puffs up his beard and then blows air out of his mouth. When I was giving him gatorade tonight all he wanted to do was crawl up my arm and lay on my shoulder. it was so sad. I felt like he said goodbye to me tonight. I called the vet but haven't heard back yet. No blood work done.
