Pablo --- 1-1-12

Well I suppose its finally time to break down and make Pablo his own thread. He's going on three years old now and seems to be doing well. He was purchased from a local petstore, brothers pets, who would purchase quantities from breeders at reptile shows and then sell them at their store. I didnt catch on to this until going there one day after they were at a show and saw half of the stuff at their store afterwards. As far as which breeder he came from, I have no idea, nor really care as his health was my only concern. He was actually my boyfriends at the time, and I ended up rescuing him after going back to our old apartment to clean before our lease was up (i had moved out a few months prior) and found him in there with a red light on and no food/water. I was going to get him going again and them rehome him, but you know how that goes.... Anyways, here he is today.
Pretty lazy... I pulled his blanket off him, and found him like this an hour later still in bed! His half log is there to serve as a "ramp" so he can easily get on/off his bed

Here is his second bath, he pooed in his first one, so I always clean it out and give him another

Heres his wonderful breakfast, I swear he eats better than me...

Thanks Emily! He loves sleeping in there! I had to put his log hide by it so he can get his fat butt up there without knocking it over

Brandon, I was worried at first his weight would break it haha but after a few layers of sanded grout it got sturdy enough I didnt worry about it. I think my problem was the fact that I built a big structure for my first project. I should have started small, and then worked my way up when I got more comfortable with the process, but didnt have a need for a small one. All in all it looks good enough to use it and not throw it away. Now that its over, and I've seen Pablos lil bearded smile, I'm glad I did it.
I will say that now that I have done one, I have been thinking about building again, but on a much smaller level. My armadillo lizard and Leo's all have plastic food containers for their humid hides. They all work great, but I think I might try and build something that will fit over the top of them, so they'll slip out for easy cleaning, but look better in their tanks... one step at a time though

Oh gosh, that bed is too cute! I never thought too give a beardie a bed, but it sure is a great idea! Puff loves sleeping in mine, so her having her own would be awesome!

Pablo is still getting use to his new platform and loving it! Today I saw him use the stairs for the first time! He would go from the top to the bottom, but never did it when I was around so I was worried maybe he was just free falling haha but he does use the stairs! He also got his Halloween decorations put up! Here are some pics...

Pablo did the grossest thing ever the other day.... Here he is before the incident...

Right after this.. he pooped! All over my poor pup, who was sleeping at the time! So, off to his tank with Pablo, and off to the bath for my lab, Shelby!

He only wants to sleep in his tank, but runs wild when out.. wheres my snuggle buddy?!?!

Well, Pablo is as boring as ever lately. All he wants to do is sleep! So I have a few pictures of him, and some of the other lizards who seem more entertaining lately

Someone had just posted about beardies liking cucumber, so I gave it a try...

He wasn't amused, at all haha Didn't even TRY his salad. Oh well, he never does when he's about to go down.

And not alive.. but my new ring came just in time for the show this weekend!

I do plan on going to the reptile show, so I'll post some pics of that (if theres anything worth photographing). My BF is getting a pacman, so I suppose we can take photos of that lil guy when we pick one out. I wanted to use the spare 29 gallon for a African Fat Tail, but I suppose since I have 4 lizards I can give in and let him have something of his own to care for (I just don't trust anyone else to clean, etc like I do). Pablo may be about to sleep for days on end, but that doesn't keep me from spoiling him. I just got his lizards beanie baby in the mail for Christmas, and plan on ordering a blanket from blondie on the for sale section as well. After that he is all done for Christmas! haha Oh, and for anyone that reads this and has leopard geckos, do they like blankets?

So I am back from the reptile show. Sadly, I don't have any pictures. I got home from work around 8:30am and had to leave shortly after to go straight to the show so i was in zombie mode! We did get a pacman frog, and I'll do my best to post decent pictures of him/her. There were a LOT of snakes, which are ok to look at, but I would never be able to own one. I wish they would of had more pacmans and uromastyx to look at, but it was an alright show. I got to see oglerpets, so that was neat! I'll be sure to post pictures of the teeny leashes I purchased from her later (I just woke up). Anyway, heres Pablo as I found him this morning after I got home from work....

He now burrows underneath his blanket to sleep during the day Good thing I got those teeny leashes so my leopard geckos can entertain me all winter!

And heres the new pacman, I think his names Norman, but I was pretty tired when we got home so it might have changed and I forgot, ha

And one more... I think they are cute lil things. He kept thumping the crap out of his tub trying to get out on the drive home.

Thank goodness I was so tired at the show, or I would have been more tempted to bring home a baby beardie, as they had some GREAT colored ones up there. I really don't think I'd ever really want two beardies though, because with work, etc, I really only have the time to spoil one. Now if they had had baby ornate uromastyx, that would have been a tough one with Petcos gallon sale :lol: But i'd still rather wait and have the full means than stress myself with a new project now. Teeny leash pics later!

He's doing pretty well, although he is sleeping much more than I approve haha he's getting some photos professionally done, so hopefully those turn out well
