Because he was in the sun and the colour went away, you shouldnt be too worried :wink:

Yep!
Dragons (and a good number of lizards) can change the color of their skin based on different cues. Dragons can control the melanin (dark pigment) in special cells to brighten or darken. It's controled by hormones but can be a responce to mood/emotion, temperature, UV exposure and other things

That and the outside can be pretty scary. Was his beard black?

To be honest, I really do not think his beard was black, I know his body was thowe.

Sounds like classic beardie soakin-up-sunshine reaction to me then
Darker colours absorb more light, so heat up quicker
