Arm waving is submission, so he's probably letting you big lizards know that he's little & not really good to eat! My beardies have all done that to me when they were younger, they tend to head bob me now  Mind you, I caught Didi, who's 6 yrs old, waving at Leo, who's 4 years old, then started black bearding & bobbing him, so who can tell? But that's normally what it means.

Weird lol he doesn't even always do it in my direction, he does it facing one way for a couple mins, then turns a little and waves, turns a little a waves, like in a circle lol What a cutie.
So far he has eaten 2 or 3 crickets today, he won't chase them but if they run in front of him he'll eat them...lazy lil guy

At least he's gaining & he'll start eating more as he gets used to where he is. He's probably waving at the whole area, just to make sure! Beardies are so funny, I'm glad he's eating something. Have you tried him on silkworms or phoenix worms, also known as reptiworms? They're full of calcium and soft-bodied, you just have to put them in a bowl, they can't crawl out of glass, so try that if you can get them in your area. Then there's always small hornworms, those might bring on his appetite. You can try butter worms & some wax worms, too, not full of calcium, but soft-bodied and easy to eat. Even so, he's a cutie, it'll just take time for him to get used to his new home.

Maybe I'll grab some hornworms on Tuesday (or tonight after work if I get off in time) and I'd love to get Phoenix worms, but they're so hard to find around here. I'll keep looking though because I'd like to get those for my babies too!

If you're ok to order on the internet, try www.mulberry farms.com. Check out their site first & contact them about phoenix worms, cost & shipping. I've heard good things from them and a friend orders lots of different bugs every time she makes an order & she has only 2 beardies.

That's wonderful, good food, love & care really makes a great difference. Because he's young, he could very well make up for lost time & be huge before you know it!

:) He was at 45.6 g. Small gain, but a gain! I just fed him a couple hornworms too, he really seemed to like those, surprise surprise...my female Daisy almost fell off her cave when she saw what I had!! lol Blaze only ate them when I hand fed them though :s

Love the enclosure, he'll have lots of room to run around & a stick to climb, that important. Thanks for sharing, just love it !

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
