OK, what's with the decimal places?

Alright, so I see stuff like this in a lot of sigs here:

0.1 bearded dragon
1.0 Mongolian ratsnake
1.1 Chihuahua-Shih-Tzu mix

What the heck does that mean?

its male famle ratios. the first number representing males the secound females and if there a third that would be unsexed. like I have one male beardie, 1.0

Ohhh, so since I have 2 male cats, it would be "2.0 cats, Willy and Harry"?

Also, to add, as I've seen elsewhere, a third number can be added at the end if the sex is unknown
