Norris Notes - Two years already?

LOL! That's funny. No worries, I like talking about my cats, too. They don't have a blog anywhere so they have to resort to the occasional hi-jacking...and as you can see from all my pictures of cats on a dragon thread, happens all the time.

Life has been hectic Carrie, and I'm sorry I haven't been around to check up on Norris. He is looking dreamy as he's getting bigger. He's finally starting to fill out! The colors are his beard are just fabulous! I love that he's growing up so well. You're such a good mom!!

I'm so glad to hear from you. I figured that life was just being busy for you and I've been thinking about you and your dragon (and cat) horde and hoping you were all doing well. Either that or you've been out hunting Ms Sassafras this WHOLE time. HUGS
Norris is doing his thing, his own way. Expect for his continuing running poop, he's doing very well. I'm trying to make myself take more pictures because he is rapidly loosing the last bit of young dragon and shooting up into grown up.
Drop in when you can, even if you can't update much we still love hearing from you. It really made me smile to see ya.

Here is a picture from yesterday evening. We had to take out Norris' usual basking log to clean it up and let it dry so he had to make do with an old grape vine which used to fit him fine.

Clearly it doesn't fit him anymore!!! He was standing on the ground with just his front feet on it, so don't think he was doing a chin up or anything strenuous! Though he insists those are pecks and not man/lizard boobs. He sure did lick it a lot. I guess he could taste his scent on it. I have a few more pictures of him posing this way. I'll try to put a few more up.

I really thought he'd be one of the smaller dragons who didn't hit 20". I'm not going to make that bet now. We got him in the beginning of July and I doubt he was more than a month old. He's most likely in the eight month range now. He is still growing though it is slowing down a bit now, or so the graphs say. (geek me shining through!)

Norris looks wonderful!! He's outgrown Dresden! Dresden seems to think he's all grown up and has made a solid attempt at brumating this winter. He is still 17", though he is close to 450 grams now. He's a chunk.

I'm gonna put Norris's photo in his viv so he knows he's supposed to grow long as well as wide lol

I use this scale. http://www.taylorusa.com/kitchen/food-scales/digital-glass-kitchen-scale-2.html with a bowl that has been tare (d) how do you tense that properly? Oh well. 8) His bathroom business is finally starting to hold shape again, barely. It's still soft but there is at least some form. I tried to take a picture of him on the back of the chair, let me see if I could hold the camera high enough! :wink:

of course he turned and looked at me at the last second but if you straighten him back out mentally, you get the idea..not the best shot. LOL

I can't even imagine having to go through Norris brumating (or waking up from it!!) I don't know how you can stand it, Maggie. I think that is when I'll be the most sorely tempted into getting my second. It is impossible...completely impossible for me to think of Norris larger than Dresden. I can't wrap my mind around it at all. I bet he wakes up two inches longer.

Poor guy is going to shed his lips any moment. He sheds his lips separate from everything else. Makes him look like he OD'ed on lip balm or something.

After a romp around the room, I needed to put Norris the Morris back in to his viv. I didn't want him to get too cold. I set him down and he held the pose. I don't know if I put him away too quickly (I might have, he has been fighting sometimes to not go back and I was trying to set him down before he tried to climb back up my arms or jump ) but he held the position for a moment as though to say.."Well, I never!!"
