Hi, I am the slave of six cockatiels and my new dragon Nim. I'm creating this thread to share all the cute things my little Nim does. Ive had him for eleven days now and he likes me. He warmed up to me six days after I got him. He is the smartest lizard I have ever owned. I would post pics but I'm having some trouble. I put a photo on Flickr and then do the image thing but it only flashes the pic then it disappears if anyone could help I would like that. Nim is a six inch ten gram bearded dragon. Who's favorite veggie is dandelion greens. I have an organic lawn so I get the dandelion greens from there.

Thanks Skymall. I think it's been about four days since Pika's passing. KitKat is noisier today. He sings one moment and the next he runs around calling for Pikachu. I think he is, how do I put this, 'horny'? LOL, he does have two other sisters. Okay, I'm not going to do into the depth of this. This is a PG-13 forum. My tiels are anything but PG-13, LOL. :D
Okay, Nimmy news! :D In my long post last night I forgot to post that Nim didn't poop. I don't think it was because he can't, he just didn't feel like it. Day before yesterday he did two poops. A large one and a small one. I think he just didn't feel like pooping yesterday. I felt his belly and there was no poop right by the vent like I usually feel. It was just halfway through. He had a large breakfast. Some collards, a wee bit of butternut squash since he isn't that much of a fan, and of course his crickets. Hopefully we can order his roaches this Friday, LOL, dream on. I would cut Nim's stick in nice log sized pieces, but the weather isn't being nice. It supposed to be rainy till Sunday. I don't even want to get his rocks and bake those. It's too wet. *sigh* This is taking longer than I thought. Okay, LOL, I'm a lazy butt. I try to be productive. I was yesterday. Anyways, I think that is all. I'll post about Nim or the tiels if anything new happens. :D

Let's see, what to begin with .....okay, cockatiels. So I can see why Cookie is so monstrous about my closet. She laid a egg in there. She was acting egg laden yesterday. LOL, she has locked me out of my room. But she is in bed right now. KitKat is really horny. And that is all I'll say. Done with cockatiels now. :D
So, Nimrod. I took him out for a runabout today. He also decided to poop on the tea table. Luckily it was on some napkins and not on me. :D The poo looked like nicely digested veggie slush, LOL. Basically just :puke: . But good news is that he is getting really beefy in that gut. And here is something ridiculously ironic. So, got a roll of paper towels for Nim. Well, we ran out of napkins, so what are we using for substitute? That's right, Nim's paper towels. And it looks like we'll have hardly any money this week. And we need to save money during November because at the end of November my brother will graduate from boot camp. I'm staying with my 25 year old sister while mom, dad, and my 18 year old sister travel to Chicago. I'm staying home because of the pets. And that I don't like REALLY long road trips. Yeah, a 7 hour drive (there and back) to see my most favorite band is a good enough road trip for me. Or maybe just a quicky to Boston. But not a however long trip to Chicago. Besides, what about my tiels and Nim? I only trust me to care for them. And that's final. :D I think that is the final update for today.

Not much news on Nim, but I do have pictures! :D

Happy colors after breakfast. Look at that belly! :p

Actually, he is getting beefier around the gut. Yay! :D

I LOVE his colors! His face is really milky. And, LOL, the red underneath looks pink. Like he is wearing pink lipstick. Although he put it on a little sloppily. :D

Just one beautiful reptile. :D

I may have more pics later. I'll probably go out in a few minutes and work on his basking sticks. It's a sunny (ish) day. Hope you enjoyed. :D

I am a little bit late but RIP Pikachu     .
I know how hard it is to lose a cute little cockatiel .When We lost Ziggy it was during the night,I woke up and saw my mom holding him.
I was absolutely heartbroken,we buried him in a warm little box under a bush in our backyard.I still miss him very much.

On a lighter note, cute pics of Nimmy :D .He is growing very fast  .

Yeah, it is always hard to lose a pet. Thanks Lara. :D

Thanks Beardiesforthewin. It makes me feel good to hear someone say I'm taking good care of him. Because right now, LOL, it doesn't seem like it. :p

Yes, thank you, Nim is growing good. :D I did make a mistake and he is probably around 14 inches rather than 15, LOL. I posted something about that a few posts back. Although, sadly, I think my baby has monsters inside him. He pooped again and it didn't look good. That would be 3 smelly runny poops in a row. darn, just when I thought we were clear. I guess next Friday I'll have to work something with mom so I send Nim's fecal matter to Cheryl at BD.co. This Friday we don't have enough money. And Nim is almost out of canned crickets. Darn it! :banghead: I guess I'll see if I can borrow some more money from my sister. I did last time. Also, Nim wants live buggies. Ugh, but good news is that he will move into the 20 gallon VERY SOON. I kind of have a deadline because the paper towels I got for Nim are running out. LOL, we ran out of napkins, and didn't buy our own paper towels. So know we're using Nim's. How does that work? LOL. :D

Uhh,life is so hard right now. Can't wait for this to pass.
Especially since my mom is sick and she barely has any money left because it is nearing the end of the month.
As long as you are doing everything you can do for him right now,he will probably be fine :D .Lets just hope and pray.

Yep, hope and pray is what I do everyday. I was feeling good that things were looking up, until Pikachu died of course. Man, last time I cried like that was with Yuzu. Of course I saw Yuzu die. I just woke and saw Pika Pi there, dead. But, just so long as Nim has a healthy appetite and isn't lethargic, I'll be fine. Which is exactly what he is doing. :D

Thats good that he is doing good :D .
The last time I cried really really hard was "sigh",when My cat caught My first beardie.i only had him for 8 days.I had accidently left the cage
open and i went to eat dinner.I came back and everything in his cage was knocked over and he was missing .my heart raced and i started looking everywhere.I walked in the kitchen, and there he was lying on the floor with a cat sitting next to him .i ran to him and i thought he was still alive till I turned him over and saw that he had been slit open.I started crying very hard for about 20 minutes.i finally told my mom and she did not get angry at me ,but instead told me that I could go get another on tomorrow.then I ended up with Nero.i think Nero is his brother because they were both in the same tank and they both looked very similar.I don't talk about this very much but that was the last time I cried super hard.
And that was in December of last year,a long time ago  .I still miss him very much and I wonder what he would be like today.
I appreciate Nero very much and I make sure that nothing like that will ever happen again.

Oh man, I think I had a nightmare about that once. Not about Nim and a cat, but something about one of my pets dying a gruesome death. I worry about stuff like that happening with Nim. That is why I hover over him when he is running about. I don't have a leash for him anymore because I trust him. Although my only worry is Nim going under something. All of the birds and too scared of him. He is now bigger than Oosy, and unless I treat Nim like a toy with Oosy he stays far away. But again, Nim scares me enough. Blending in with carpet, trying to eat foreign objects, trying to drown himself in his bath, etc. etc. I'm already paranoid about my pets. Nim just plays with my it. Silly lizard. He just wants me to kiss him to death happy that he is alive. Momma's boy. :D

Okay, time for an update. And more pics! :D

So, Nim had breakfast and pooped a hour afterwards. The poop looked less loose, but still ... Then I left for a night of worship at our church. Which was about two hours. I come home to this, a sad looking beardie on a messed up bed. I took pics that I'll share after updates. Well, seeing Nim oh so cute like that I took my baby out. He ran around for a little and once he got cold I tried to put him back into his cage. All he did was climb back up my hand and out of the cage. So I kept him. But instead of running around again, he climbs up my shirt and snuggles in my neck. :love5: Of course he knows that is the way to my heart, so I had him out for longer. Then I looked at the time and saw that dinnertime was very near. Yet here was this sleepy little beardie on my chest. But he can't miss meals, so I woke him and put him in his cage. Then I went and prepared dinner. He had the last two crickets from the can. But we may be able to get more Tuesday. That of course depends on whether PetLife has them or not. Time to pray about it, I say. :D So my Nim will have to go three more meals without meat. :( He also really wants live buggies. :( Life sucks at times, and this is one of them. We are also running out of his collards. You have GOT to be kidding me! :banghead: Anyways, let's lighten up the mood with cute pictures. :D

Oh, first I have a question. I want Nim to have a basking log but they are hard to climb for him. The sanding hasn't worked that much. He shimmies up the log, LOL. So i got an idea, I have a picture of it. Would this be good for Nim to climb on?
PA150003.jpg

It's basically just some nails hammered into a log. Like rungs on a ladder.
PA150005.jpg

This is of course the prototype. I just want to know your opinions on it. :D Thanks in advance.

Nimmy!
This is his 'sexy arm' when he is snuggling. Best pic I could get. He was on me after all. And moving him would just mess it up.

Being the arboreal lizard he is.

About getting a new job, I agree pray about it. God is a really big God and he does take care of us.

The log, I'm not sure. I would worry that the nails would or could injure him.

Did I say something about a job? LOL, remind 'cause I forgot. But we haven't moved yet and by the time we'll be settled in I'll be 17. Then I'll look for a job. Mom keeps trying for jobs but none are taking her. :( It's probably 'cause she home-schooled 5 kids, so she doesn't have that much job experience. My parents divorced so we are basically living on alimony. Dad has a good job, and mom will get a good job. We just need to move. That is what I pray about. Then I'll pray for a job. :D But I don't want to get so deep into my family life. That is all I say for privacy's sake. :D

Yeah, the nails kind of hurt me. Like if Nim lost his grip and slipped he may get really hurt by the nails. It is the stubs not the spiky part, but still, safety first. :D I guess I ponder a new idea. I can do that! :D Thanks.

Got it! You could coat the nails with wax! Wrap the nails in cloth! It will protect him and give him foot hold to climb! The nails by themselves probably would have been to smooth for him to grip any ways. I'm broke so what I would do in the situation is cut up an old shirt maybe one that doesn't fit anymore or one you never wear. Then either A) sew it shut B) staple it but make sure the staple isn't sticking out C) rubber band it or tie it with string! Let me know what you think! Make sure the cloth you use is think bc if he fell on thin cloth he could still get hurt.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
