New Beardie

Hi there everyone.
I have just got a new 11 week old beardie called Archie. He was active and eating at the breeders but now he is home he moves around bait, but not much, usually basking most of the time with his eyes closed and mouth open. The temp in his cage is 105'f at the basking spot and in the 70's on the cooler side. He also has a 10uv reptiglow bulb, but i had heard these aren't good for them, and wondered if this was true? I offer him fresh veg, crickets and locust but he still has not touched anything, any advice?

is it a compact bulb? what substrate do you use? and how old/long is he?

I have a reptiglow 10uv but have been told this is bad for beardies? I use reptile carpet as a substrate as didn't ant any other substrate ingested. He's 11 weeks and only small as of yet.

i think you should switch to reptisun 10.0 tube light. i know some lights can make your lizard go blind and die what kind of thermometer are you using?

I have ordered a reptisun 10.0uv compact 26W, is this suitable? I'm only using a fail until the store get probe thermometers in which won't be long. He has now eaten three crickets and is bait more active so must be getting used to his surroundings.

I'm pretty sure compact bulbs aren't the way to go. Your going to want the reptisun 10.0 fluorescent tube.

yeah the compact are realy bad for them and can make them go blind not sure if its permanent but it will also kill them
