We never expected to get another dragon, but our neighbours next door wanted to give away Cleo, as he was called. We'd babysat him before, he's such a sweetheart. We nicknamed him Velcro because when he snuggles he never wants to go back to his viv, he hangs on as if he's made out of velcro.

So here he is. Today was his first day with us. He ate 13 supers and ate some squash, not bad for the first day he was here. He's only in a 30 gallon tank, which will be ok for now. He's 18" long but weighs only 200g. We figure he's probably 2 yrs old. Our neighbours rescued him last fall, they found him and a female (which they named Puff) on Craig's list. They were in a 30 gallon dirty tank, with sand and a huge log that took up 1/2 the space in the tank. Leo was at the bottom, he was sooooo skinny. He's gained weight, but never got the attention he deserved. I took some pics today, but will take more tomorrow. I think he remembers our place as didn't get stressed as I expected. No stress marks at all. When we let him run around the living room, he noticed our girls and immediate black beard, so his hormones are working!

He had a bath this morning, had a big poop, no smell, so not worried about parasites.

So here are a few pics, he's a yellow & dark gray, light gray colour.

Under the communal power sun in the living room:

Discovering there are girls in those tanks up above, he has a great black beard for such a skinny boy:

On the couch, he's got a pretty diamond pattern on his back:

Hope you enjoy

Nathaniel hasn't moved an inch in his hide. I lifted it last night as I could hear something in his tank, turned out to be a roach underneath his log LOL. When I lifted the hide, he opened his eyes just a tiny bit and went back to sleep. Guess he is in brumation! So I'll get him up this weekend for a bath and he can go back to sleep, if he does, I'll turn off the lights.

I'm hoping he's the only one who does go into brumation, I miss him already

Awe, one down! I'm still waiting for Sarth to make up his mind, he'd usually be asleep by now. I had to go back and look up when I said Daedles went to sleep last year, looks like it was right on Halloween, so I'll have to keep an eye on her towards the end of October and see if she's exhibiting the signs again!
Here's to everyone else staying awake!

Not sure about Cierra, I finally got her to poop today and she's in her hide tonight, we'll see if she wakes up in the am. If not, she's awake this weekend as she ate a bowl of greens today but that was it. Nathaniel's up on the weekend, too, for a bath, then if he wants to go back to sleep, I'll turn off his lights. The only one not allowed to sleep this winter is Leo, he's still not moving around much. He can sleep during the day, but his light stays on and I'll remove his hide if he tries to go into it. He can't go without protein for this winter and still needs testing every 2 mo to make sure his blood vessels stay well.

Well Nathaniel has been sound asleep for a week now. Cierra is now asleep, too. Castiel looks like he'll be next and Gabriel is sleepy, too. It's going to be a long fall if I only have Leo to keep me company. At least I'll have lots of time for therapy with him. I saw him walking this morning, that was very exciting! So he seems to be doing much better, tummy is still squishy, too. :D

OMG I thought I was going to have a heart attack. I left Cierra about this afternoon while I went out to get 3 things. Because of a car accident and power outages from a huge wind storm yesterday, it took me 2 hours to get back home, instead of the 20 min it would normally have taken. I was supposed to be at a friend's at 3p, so let her know I'd be late and started to search for Cierra. Well I couldn't find her so left for my friends. Again, instead of the normal 1/2 hr it took me an hour to get to her place so waited until after 7p to leave for home. This time I took a flashlight into the living room and found her wedged underneath the stereo the cabinet is on, on the wrong side of the partitions (I only have 5 partitions across the stereo front, yet she manage to wedge her way in, go around it and wedge herself underneath it!). Needless to say, after taking everything away from the front of the stereo, she now warming up underneath the ramp light before I put her to bed. What a day! I won't be letting her out unless I'm home in the future, that's for sure! But it does look like she's done sleeping in her hide for awhile, she ate lots today after her bath...

I got Nathaniel up from his week long sleep, gave him a good long bath, let him out for a bit on the ramp, then put him on his log, expecting him to go back into his hide. I got home tonight and he's sleeping in his regular spot beside his log, so no idea if he'll be going back to sleep or not. I'll put some food out for him in the morning.

Castiel started the morning in his hide but it was bath & supplements for everyone today, so I got him out. He had a long soak and a poop, but when I put him back in his tank he ate his bugs and greens, so he won't be sleeping either.

Leo ate well today, too. I'm sure he'd like to brumate but he'll have to sleep on his basking platform underneath his light for the winter, at least until I know for sure that he's back to normal.

Even Gabriel is sleepy. The weather got really weird yesterday. We had a huge wind storm, pulled out trees all over the place, electric outages since yesterday afternoon and alot of people still don't have it back yet. I wasn't affected but a townhouse further up the road had 2 large trees uproot and crash through their roof! I was out yesterday afternoon, this storm was gone from the areas where I was, so it was a huge surprise to come home to 3 trees uprooted on my street, never mind everywhere else. I feel so sorry for the people who own the townhome, what a mess for them.

When I got home tonight, the temp in the living room was low, I'd left the door open to sunshine, didn't expect it to get this cold tonight. Had to put the heat on for a minute to warm up the living room. Not sure if summer is done or not, but it's been raining on and off and we need that more than more sunshine.

Naughty Cierra! Your kids sure know how to give you a heart attack, huh?

Thank goodness the bizarre storm didn't hit your home. That would've been awful.

I agree, Jolene, who lives 1/2 hr away, didn't have electricity for over 24 hours, so her poor dragons got cold. Luckily it wasn't cold out, so they were fine. Just had a bit of a longer sleep than usual. Everythings working again since last evening and we're getting rain again, which we really need.

Cierra will be supervised when she's out again, the little brat. Nathaniel woke up this am, so put food in his tank, not sure if he'll eat it or not, but after the last bite, I'm not feeding him anymore. The top of my finger is still numb and he bit down hard enough to go through 1/2 of my nail about 1/4" down from the end of my finger...he's dangerous!

I have to feed poor Gabriel today, it's been 3 days, I think, so he'll get lots of food today! Leo continues to do well, his tummy is still squishy and he's starting to walk a bit more, which is great to see. He'll get a long bath in the bathtub today, just to swim.

Castiel is up and eating, too, so guess he's given up on the hide.

So glad you found Cierra! I bet you were very worried, but it's good that she didn't go far and just decided to hide. I'm so glad Leo is still improving, too, that's great news! I hope he enjoys his bath :)

Didn't get him in the bath but will tomorrow.

Cierra was watching TV when she disappeared, found her behind the partition again, little brat. Now I'm going to have to figure something more secure to keep her out.

Wow Deb, that must have been some storm! Glad to hear that you weren't really affected but awful for those other poor people.

Cierra sure is something with her squeezing between those partitions. It's amazing how they can get into the smallest places, easy for them but hard for us to get them back out.

So glad to hear that Leo is doing so well. He sure had us all very worried.

Good luck trying to have at least one wide awake beardie this fall & winter. Don't know yet how our 3 are going to react.

Yes, I'm really pleased with Leo, he seems to be very alert, loves his daily roaches and collard greens. Took him right off the bok choy, he much prefers collards and I found a place that sells a small bunch of organic collards for $2.99, worth it for them.

Cierra and Nathaniel were both awake in their hides this am, so brought them out and put them under their basking lights. Cierra even ate a few roaches and some collard greens. Tomorrow they'll get their supplements and baths. Then if they want to sleep again, they can.

Leo get sleepy off and on, but has to stay under his basking so I'm sure he's digesting properly. He had a bath today but almost drowned, poor sweet boy, so popped him out, told him enough for today. Next bath will have less water, so he can touch the bottom better.

Gabriel is really slowing down, too, but not Castiel, he's still go, go, go! Glad there's one with some energy...

Now for pictures:

Alot of Castiel, he's such a beautiful boy:

Castiel had been sunning himself on the chair when I noticed he'd disappeared. I found him in this very weird position, under one of the cement blocks outside, doesn't look very comfortable, does it  silly boy

I love that pic of Cierra! They are all so beautiful! Gabriel gives me hope that my Soleil will just have a 'rounder' shape when she's all grown up. Everyone keeps telling me she needs to go on a diet!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
