We never expected to get another dragon, but our neighbours next door wanted to give away Cleo, as he was called. We'd babysat him before, he's such a sweetheart. We nicknamed him Velcro because when he snuggles he never wants to go back to his viv, he hangs on as if he's made out of velcro.

So here he is. Today was his first day with us. He ate 13 supers and ate some squash, not bad for the first day he was here. He's only in a 30 gallon tank, which will be ok for now. He's 18" long but weighs only 200g. We figure he's probably 2 yrs old. Our neighbours rescued him last fall, they found him and a female (which they named Puff) on Craig's list. They were in a 30 gallon dirty tank, with sand and a huge log that took up 1/2 the space in the tank. Leo was at the bottom, he was sooooo skinny. He's gained weight, but never got the attention he deserved. I took some pics today, but will take more tomorrow. I think he remembers our place as didn't get stressed as I expected. No stress marks at all. When we let him run around the living room, he noticed our girls and immediate black beard, so his hormones are working!

He had a bath this morning, had a big poop, no smell, so not worried about parasites.

So here are a few pics, he's a yellow & dark gray, light gray colour.

Under the communal power sun in the living room:

Discovering there are girls in those tanks up above, he has a great black beard for such a skinny boy:

On the couch, he's got a pretty diamond pattern on his back:

Hope you enjoy
Deb and my six dragons :D      :( :love5:

Castiel's outside photo almost looked like he fell down from somewhere and was trying to play it off ;)

Tell Leo that I said that drowning isn't allowed. Not now, not ever.

No such thing as a diet for a beardie, as learned by Leo in getting him to lose weight by not giving him many bugs this past spring. They are built they way they're built, so I've learned. Gabriel should weigh less but I've learned that adults need at least 35-40 bugs a week, so not losing track of that any time soon. How old is your Soleil? If she's a year old, you can start feeding her less bugs but only if she's at least a year old. She's still growing until she's at least 2 years old. I won't take that chance again, I'd rather a plump beardie than a slim beardie with health issues. :D

Hey Deb, glad Leo is alright.

I loved the pictures of your dragons.

How is Bunny and Rocko doing these days?

My boy is getting rounder in the stomach area so thats good news for me at least so maybe he won't be a slim dragon.

Sounds like he's getting bigger fat pads in his abdomen which is really good news as those are so important for his health.

Bunny laid 3 eggs and I've realized that the Pangea I've been feeding her isn't working for her, she's lost some weight. So I've put her back on the Repashy and will get some more soon. Funny how Rocco is doing so well eating small supers that I keep overnight in Pangea and Bunny isn't doing well on it at all. So time to buy a bit bag of Repashy, next weekend when I have $

Otherwise, they're both doing well. I have to get some pics of them when they're up.

Hi Makayla, thanks for stopping in and enjoying the pics of my crew. Do you have dragons, too? Post a pic here if you want.

Cierra can't decide if she's staying awake or not. Today she spent hours in front of the TV watching cartoons. I finally put her to bed after lights out. She's still out of her hide, so I'm hoping she'll stay out for awhile.

Nathaniel is back in his hide again, but I have to pull him out tomorrow for a bath, then he can go back in. It's weird to see a 1 1/2 yr old brumating at the beginning of fall, most of mine always waited until Oct-Jan, so we'll see if he gets back up for not. He seems to have lost weight, I'll weigh him tomorrow.

Castiel and I had a 2 hour nap together today, it was fun, he wiggled his butt to get more comfy, melted my heart :D

I think Gabriel will be the next to sleep, he seems to get very tired by 1p. Leo also is the same, but he'll be sleeping under his lights.

A few more pictures.

Cierra's favourite spot in her bath
"I want out, MOM, GET ME OUT!"

Nathaniel, having been woken & taken out of his hide, was very good in his bath, swam but never tried to get out. What a difference!

Leo moved from his basking spot to his cool side. It was great to see as he hasn't been moving around alot.

I tried to get a better picture of Castiel's colours, he's got these blue sidebars and light red stripes on either side of his spine. His tail just shed and it's red, too.

He is a handsome boy and I would never have thought he was just a year old! Glad you enjoyed the pictures!

OMG I just realized that pictures are due for the calendars! I've been so preoccupied with my ankle that I completely forgot. Guess I'll be taking lots of pictures & then posting them here for some input. Gina, do you think that this picture of Castiel is calendar worthy?

I have to read up on my settings on my new camera to see if I can find a better setting for the lighting I have in my living room. At least I have a couple of weeks before the surgery to get this done!

Unfortunately, I can't tell what the original photo's resolution is. If I zoom in on the downloaded larger image, it's all blurry.

Be sure to have the main focus on his face and not anywhere else.

I'll do my best, I have 2 weekends before my operation, so will take some, hopefully in the sunshine. I keep forgetting so will put a big note out for myself for this weekend, besides hopefully seeing my grandkids and getting a haircut, my weekend is open. So will concentrate on good pictures. Even Nathaniel and Cierra will be up for baths on Sunday, so can get some of the whole gang. Thanks Gina!

Also, have less of the background in the shot and more of the beardie. You don't have to have their entire body in the photo. This would allow you to "fool" the camera into focusing on your beardies as opposed to everywhere else.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
