We never expected to get another dragon, but our neighbours next door wanted to give away Cleo, as he was called. We'd babysat him before, he's such a sweetheart. We nicknamed him Velcro because when he snuggles he never wants to go back to his viv, he hangs on as if he's made out of velcro.

So here he is. Today was his first day with us. He ate 13 supers and ate some squash, not bad for the first day he was here. He's only in a 30 gallon tank, which will be ok for now. He's 18" long but weighs only 200g. We figure he's probably 2 yrs old. Our neighbours rescued him last fall, they found him and a female (which they named Puff) on Craig's list. They were in a 30 gallon dirty tank, with sand and a huge log that took up 1/2 the space in the tank. Leo was at the bottom, he was sooooo skinny. He's gained weight, but never got the attention he deserved. I took some pics today, but will take more tomorrow. I think he remembers our place as didn't get stressed as I expected. No stress marks at all. When we let him run around the living room, he noticed our girls and immediate black beard, so his hormones are working!

He had a bath this morning, had a big poop, no smell, so not worried about parasites.

So here are a few pics, he's a yellow & dark gray, light gray colour.

Under the communal power sun in the living room:

Discovering there are girls in those tanks up above, he has a great black beard for such a skinny boy:

On the couch, he's got a pretty diamond pattern on his back:

Hope you enjoy
Deb and my six dragons :D      :( :love5:

What a relief to be home, it was so good to see my boys again. I couldn't find Didi at first, he's been moping and was hiding and cold. So I grabbed him up (the diva at work) and snuggled him, then Titan, who's grown a lot in a week & has shed a lot more of the grey yuck off his head. I think the abcess in his mouth is growing again, so putting meds on it again and gave him his panacur, as his poop was a bit stinky. He sure enjoys his tank, gets very twitchy when I bring him out, but that will change, I'm sure.

Lonzo looked sad, too, so snuggled him and put his "blue thing" (a royal blue hand towel) in his tank and suddenly he was a happy camper.

I put Rubio out in the sun and he ate his fill of the impatient flowers, he's so funny. Now he's black bearding and 1/2 in his hide.

Leo has shed his mouth & he starts his meds tomorrow again for the mouth rot. I think this bunch will do it.

Jake and Cami did a great job taking care of them, Jake even took out the garbage! So a nice clean house, even though it's hot as ever.

My nephew Ryder broke his arm on Friday at a birthday party, broke one of the big bones in his arm below the elbow clean through, so he had surgery yesterday to place it together and is in a cast until August. So I'm off to visit him, taking advantage of being home.

Talk to you all later!

Boy, that must have been painful when Ryder broke his arm like that. How did he do it, any idea?

Great to have you back and it sounds like all of your babies were happy to see you. Bet they will all pig out for you now. Now they will have their routine back once again which will REALLY please them.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome back.

I will take some pics this week & post them. And Matt, I'll take a few extra of Rubio, just for you! Rubio was good when I got home, but when I was getting ready to leave, he got a black beard and backed into his hide! Funny boy, I'll be up early tomorrow am for snuggles, baths, food, the regular routine.

Diane, I was surprised that Didi and Lonzo were the most unhappy at me being away, but Jake did a great job, all their tanks were clean and they were all well fed. It was great not to worry about them. Lonzo and Didi will get extra snuggles this week. And also wanted to tell you that my ankle is finally improving, I can climb up stairs now without pain, and even if I over do, if I rest it the next day, I'm good to go. I think it's because of the Arnica tablets I've been taking, and I'm hoping this means those darned ligaments are really mending, they sure feel like they are.

You wouldn't believe how Ryder is doing. The surgery went well, they were able to set the bone together from outside, which is great and he just has to keep his arm up for circulation and to prevent any blood clots, just for another day. They don't put the casts in slings anymore, they want the movement. He sees his doctor for xrays in 10 days to make sure it's healing. It's the large bone just above his wrist, but the cast allows him to write, as he's left handed and it's his left wrist; luckily school is almost over. He's right now playing computer games with a friend, Otherwise he's the same active kid I'm used to. I come over here to be a 7 yr old again, it's a lot of fun. His energy is phenomenal, he was just upset that he wasn't allowed on the trampoline with his brother, so we played games instead. He has to keep being reminded to keep his arm up, but otherwise he's good!

As to how it happened, he was at a birthday game on Friday, at a gym, when he went down a slide a different way (he's very inventive) and put his hand out when he fell to break his fall, breaking the bone then. So he'll have the cast on 5-6 weeks and drive his mom and dad batty in the meantime!

I'm on my brother's computer, he'll be home shortly and then I'll be on my way home, too. But it was fun to be here, I always love to come over here and play with my nephews, I live about 20 min away and I've been babysitting them since Cole was 2 yrs old, and he'll be 13 in August.

Glad to have you home, Deb! I'm sure your boys, and girl, were also very happy to see their mommy again.

You didn't give Lonzo his blue blankie before you left? Or had he soiled it and Jake didn't know where to get another?

Kids are so resilient, aren't they? Isn't just amazing how even a broken arm doesn't stop Ryder from being a kid? Good for him!

Welcome back, Deb. I wish I could come up and visit you and your crew. If I ever can (which is doubtful with our current budget) I will have to leave the girls home because I don't want to get your males to riled up. They do that enough in the spring, you don't need any more of that!

Glad to know Ryder is healing well and you get to see all of your babies and snuggle. I will be expecting those pictures of Rubio then

Hi Gina, Lori and Matt, yes kids are resilient, I'm glad his dad was putting him to bed though! He was pretty hyper by the end of the night, I left at 9p. He's home again today so his mom can keep an eye on him keeping that cast elevated, but he's back to school tomorrow, which is great! He's finishing off Grade 1, boy time sure goes fast. Cole, his brother, is finishing Grade 7, he's in middle school now, soon to start high school. Amazing.

I got on Facebook with my niece Emily. She earned enough $ one summer to be able to lease a horse monthly, so she gets to ride 3x/wk for as long as she wants and her sister can ride, too, for the same price. Emily's going to be in a horse show on June 30 and she wants me there! So I'll be staying at my brother's overnight as she starts early, has to groom her horse, then a lesson, then the show at 10a. She gets to the stable at 7a, but it's too early for me to drive over, so I'll talk to my brother this week. I haven't met her horse, so this is going to be fun!

Well, they're all awake this am and glad to see me. I snuggled Didi for a few hours last night, so all is right in his work, snuggled Gabriel, too before that, he watched "Say Yes to the Dress" with me, too funny, he liked the dresses

So I'm off to get the wash into the dryer. I was so tired by the time I got home last night, I was asleep at 11a and slept a full 8 hours. So today I feel better.

And yes, Matt, I'll take a series of pics of Rubio for you.

Lori I would love to see you, it would be fun to watch your reaction to my boys once they get going...we both have the same $ constraints, so I understand your situation. Maybe one day...I was only able to get on this trip because my mom put my flight on her aeroplan points and it didn't cost me anything while I was there. My sis took me out for lunch and so did my mom, they refuse to let me pay for anything! So that's how it was possible to go.

Talk to you all later!

Hi Liz, I'll let you know. She's been riding for a few years now, she's a horse woman through and through. She was trying to persuade her mom to buy a horse, but I'm sure that idea fell through, better she lease and not have to pay for the upkeep. Better that way. Maybe when she's out of school and working and can afford a good horse and the upkeep she can look into it.

I've been riding for 11 1/2 years and I too dream to have my own horse(s). If my grandparents give me their house I'll have the barn.

I knew you were a rider, Liz, and I'm hoping you will inherit the horse at your grand parents and the barn, that would be awesome!

Just the house. The horse is technically my aunts though she doesn't take care of her - it's all my grandpa/her dad. I had a bad riding accident on her and was unable to ride her and now I'm petrified of being around her. Her brattiness doesn't help.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
