Nathaniel, Cierra, Castiel, Freya, Grrl; RIP GABRIEL

We never expected to get another dragon, but our neighbours next door wanted to give away Cleo, as he was called. We'd babysat him before, he's such a sweetheart. We nicknamed him Velcro because when he snuggles he never wants to go back to his viv, he hangs on as if he's made out of velcro.

So here he is. Today was his first day with us. He ate 13 supers and ate some squash, not bad for the first day he was here. He's only in a 30 gallon tank, which will be ok for now. He's 18" long but weighs only 200g. We figure he's probably 2 yrs old. Our neighbours rescued him last fall, they found him and a female (which they named Puff) on Craig's list. They were in a 30 gallon dirty tank, with sand and a huge log that took up 1/2 the space in the tank. Leo was at the bottom, he was sooooo skinny. He's gained weight, but never got the attention he deserved. I took some pics today, but will take more tomorrow. I think he remembers our place as didn't get stressed as I expected. No stress marks at all. When we let him run around the living room, he noticed our girls and immediate black beard, so his hormones are working!

He had a bath this morning, had a big poop, no smell, so not worried about parasites.

We are going to miss you this week, Deb. Have a great time and don't worry about your boys (I know, not really possible, is it?) they will be fine. You are lucky, you have great people to take care of them without having to move everything, you can just leave them where they are at and the face that takes care of them changes.

I'm all packed & almost ready to go, just have to take the garbage out. The boys are all asleep. The only thing I didn't get done was cleaning out Rocco's tank, but I'll do that as soon as I get home. I'm exhausted, so should have a good sleep at my mom's. I'm even taking my pillow over there as it helps me sleep. Seems I'm going to get a new suitcase when I get there, they have one for me with wheels. My only "suitcase" is a big gym bag & it weighs a ton, so I'll be glad to use one of my folks. They have a closet full of suitcases, as they travel a lot. So that's the project tonight when I get there.

I'll miss you all, too, not sure I'll have access to a computer, maybe at my aunt's, but either way, I'll be one as soon as I get home Monday morning.

Thanks for all the good wishes and thanks for all the compliments on my boys :love5: I'm sure going to miss them, even though I know they're in good hands. And the fact that I don't have to board them is wonderful

Hi Tracey, I've been calling but there was never an answer, then I was busy getting ready for my trip east. I'm in Quebec City now at my aunt & uncle's & I'll be home on Monday am, but not sure what time. My mom, dad and I are getting in at 1a, so going to their place to sleep, as soon as I'm up I'll be coming home, so I'll call you then.

Hi Lori, I'm enjoying myself very much, seeing all my relatives was a blast and now staying at my aunt & uncle's has been alot of fun, too. We've been playing Scrabble alot while my sis, b-i-l, dad and uncle went golfing.

I called Cami Wed am and she said everyone was doing well but Didi wouldn't eat any worms, he's going through another "hate bugs" phase", little brat, but he's eating his greens, so told her I stuffed him good before I left and to never mind him not eating bugs, I'll get on his tail when I get home and stuff him up again. He's such a little brat when it comes to eating! It's also warm at home, so they tend not to eat as much. I'll be cleaning off the balcony soon, so they'll get outside time, too, that always helps.

I did get some pics of everyone here, but not a great deal, was having too much fun catching up and kept forgetting to take out my camera! It sure is going fast, it's already Friday night. Tomorrow we're taking out my aunt & uncle for their 60th and then back on the plane on Sunday night. It's going to be a long night, we get on the plant at 8p, stop off in Toronto for 2 hours, so get home at 1a Monday am, then still have to drive to my folks. As soon as I wake up, I'll be packing and making my way home, can't wait to get into my own bed!
