Right a long story that I shall try to explain briefly. I am helping out a local petshop who has had a few issues with his beardies. He was given incorrect advice when first getting these in with unfortunate consequences.
Living on sand under a compact uv bulb quite a bit of retained shed with another beardie who was definitely the most dominant.
They are both small but Scampy baby is tiny, when we were in the shop the larger of the 2 was nipping at his tail so the owner of the pet shop knowing we already have 5 beardies asked if we could look after him until he gets the new vivs sorted. We agreed and bought Scampy baby home bathed him,and lots of shed came off, settled him into our spare viv.
next morning he had pooped a nice lump of sand very active but wasn't really moving his back legs, lunchtime pooped another egg shaped ball of sand, few hours later a normal shape poop but still with lots of sand, but after this poop he is now using his back legs normally.
He has lost one and a half inches of his tail as we thought he would.
Now for the saddest part of this story I have posted pictures below, Scampy baby is 8 months old 5 and a half inches long and only 16grams in weight.
He is very alert and full of beans and he has taken apple sauce through a syringe and a few crickets, dont want to feed too much whilst still pooping sand.
