My "My-my(s)" Myah found a home

Shall I wag my tail and fetch that ball? No. This will not do. I think I'll sit and bask awhile, maybe all day through. Is that yarn? A funny thing. So fuzzy soft and round. Chase it? No. I will not go. There's crickets to be found! I will not sing a pretty tune. I will not bounce and hop. And if I get too tired, it's anywhere I'll plop. But please my person, mom of mine, or my daddy dear, Remember when you're gone away, I still wait right here. I love my bath, our cuddle time, you're more then just a face. Please don't ever give me to an unfamiliar place. I need you and I'll try to show how great that I can be. Even though, you may not know, if I'm he or she. Have some faith. You'll earn my trust, I swear with all my heart. It's plain to see and clear to me, here's our fresh new start.

So... Myah did the greatest, most amazing thing! She drank from a syringe! She has never, ever, ever, done that before! Ever! She won't even drink in the bath! And the best part... It was Acidophiluz+! :mrgreen: I offered it to her and she just let it drip off of her nose like always :roll: Then I went to give it to her the same way I did the Meds and she huffed, puffed and flailed. (Not that I blame her) So I put her back on my leg and tried to hold a drop on her nose and...She did it! I'm so freaking happy right now! She only took about 4 or 5 drops but that's HUGE for a BD that has refused to drink right from hatchling! We will continue this every day so she stays hydrated. I'm so proud!

Rael on the other hand loves to drink, but for his highness it has to be running water or he turns his nose up at it. :roll: His favorite thing to do is attempt a running leap into any sink with the water on :roll: . Never a dull day for the beardie slave. :lol:

Thank you Tonja She still will not eat but this was a darn good start. Maybe I can get her to take her last dose of meds the same way!

Well isn't that the best news, she drank from a syringe & to be a probiotic to boot, well done Myah. I'm glad you enjoyed my crew, yes they are quite the bunch. Rocco's no problem, he never comes out of his tank, he's very active at night but he likes his sunlight on during the day, which is strange, as he's nocturnal. Every morning when I'm turning on all the lights, he's right up under the UVB light I get him, even though he supposedly doesn't need it. I've left the front of his tank open & he just stays in there. He has a fig tree that he likes to sit under and one day, by accident, when I was cleaning out his tank, he jumped to the top of the tree, it leaned out of his tank, he held on & when it got back into it's original place, he was still hanging on. So ever since I"ve never worried about him taking off. He's 4 1/2 yrs old & has been in that tank for 3 1/2 yrs. It's a mesh tank, so he gets lots of air, guess that's why he likes it so much. The others see him & just ignore him, which is good.

So hopefully Myah will continue with the drinking every day, even a few drops will help her tummy and hopefully she'll start eating again soon. Only one more dose of those awful meds to go, right, then a poop sample a week after, I'm so hoping for good news this time.

Thank you Deb. Myah made me want to pee laughing to day! She's still not eating well, mabe 2 or 3 crickets a day. I broke out the canned ones to hand feed her and the look was priceless! It must have taken her 5 solid mins to open her mouth with her tongue flicking about and her tail twitching. She finally got her mouth open enough for me to carefully pop in a cricket. I thought I was going to have to help her chew! :shock:

I keep puting the probiotic on her salad but she won't touch it. She just took another 3drops of Acidophiluz+ again and I raised the temps on the cool side slightly. She seems alot more active today and had a nice mess in the tub this morning. She had almost a full dropper of Acidophiluz+ yesterday as I just carefully opened her mouth enough to let it seep through her teeth. Always something to do with poor Myah.

I'm getting a little nervous now. Tomorrow will be one week from her last dose of meds. I can't tell if it's the meds or winter weather or both that has taken Myah's appetite I feel like giving her another dose could hurt more then help, and yet, if she's not clear, then all we've been through, could be for nothing (Again) I'm very conflicted right now. :?

It's best to give her the dose, then continue with the probiotics to help her tummy, you can't overdo on probiotics, it all helps her tummy get better. Then you'll be sure she's had the last dose & you can do the fecal after a week, just to make sure. I can understand why you're reluctant, as she hates it, but it will be the last, we all hope! So go for it, just to be sure. I hated giving Gabriel his doses, too, it was a fight every time, but worth it in the end. Praying for a clear fecal!

Thank you. I think you are both right. I had an oopsy though... I melted the rubber stopper on my oral dosing syringe by puting it in the dishwasher! LOL! :lol: I'll get a new one mon from the vet office here in town mon. Then dose her mon night. Yet another "Duh!" moment in the life of Holly!

Myah's actually quite light in weight for her age. I adopted her as an Adult and I've worked very hard to get her looking healthy. My goal is to get her to 400grams. That should be just right for her slender frame. I'll have to go and take a peek at Gizmo tomorrow :wink:
