I just got my first beardie yesteryday at the reptile expo (pomona fair grounds)

are there any major do/dont i should know?

its young i dont think its adult but its not a lil one
im not sure the sex but its body is about 3 1/2 inches almost 4 and tip of nose to end of tail is about 8 inches

oh, Hmm, do you have lighting for it?

ya i have a halogen bulb it was left over from an old snake i had that died
and there is a rock underneath it so i understand sand is bad for the younger ones i got that vita-sand stuff so thats no good?

no its called vita sand i bought it at petco it comes in 5 colors i have the orange one
i put down some paper towels on top of it because i read that the sand is not good for curious lil ones

the bulb i have gets hot ill tesst how hot when i get home from school

the sand (Vita-sand) is made by ZooMed Should i get rid of it?

i use repti-glo 5.0 for a basking bulb, as for heat, i use a red bulb (infared)

You need two bulbs, which means two heat lamps

i would ask around the other forums, as in the encloser topic.

im not so sure about vita-sand, for i never heard of it before,
But, like i said, i would ask in the encloser section.
