my beardie isn't acting right

I have a baby beardie. I got her on july 29th for the first couple of days she ate good.. but for the past week she has acted like she is life less.. Won't eat and hasnt pooped in 3 days. I feed her crickets, greens, and veggies.. she sleeps alot. if i take her outside in the sun she wakes up and moves around a bit.. i also have children that i s always pecking on the take too. do u think she might be scared.. i think she is only 6 to 8 weeks old.. the pet store that i got her from only had 4 babys and when i went back in there a week later 1 of them were dead. do think that she might be sick too. she is my second dragon. but i didnt by him when he was a baby he was about 2 when i got him.. any suggestion i need help im worried about her. she has a heat light and a uv light. and a heat rock..and has paper towels in her tank.

What's the basking temp? What kind of uvb are you using? I highly suggest ReptiSun 10. You should go to a vet and get a fecal testing done. Coccidia is common.

How are you keeping it hydrated ? And what size crickets are you feeding ? It may be dehydrated or impacted [ or both ] Try putting it in a very shallow lukewarm bath [ about 1/2 inch water] but stay there to be sure he doesn't go limp and drown. See if he will drink by trickling a tiny bit of water on his head. After the bath [ 5-10 minutes tops] pat dry and put back in the warm tank. Or, use an eyedropper / spray bottle to drip water on the nose end. Be sure the crickets you feed are calcium dusted and are no longer than the width between it's eyes. And if you feed mealworms, discontinue those, they can impact a baby. I hope something works out. As was mentioned, list your entire set up [ by the way, heat rocks are not good, they easily burn an animal]

thanks i have her outside now and she is acting like normal i think it might be to cold and dark in my house im going to buy some more lights and thermometers so i can keep track of the heat.. to really she how warm or cold it is in the tank.. after i put her outside she started running around and chasing her crickets and even pooped.. so i really think it is the temperature in the tank. but i will let everyone know how it goes.. thanks for the help..

Hello,

Be sure to get the temp gun or digital probe to measure your temperatures more effectively.
Do you have any pictures of your tank setup for us?
As for leaving crickets in the tank with her, it is not a good idea as the crickets will bite & cause injury to your baby. Try using either reptiworms or phoenix worms to help supplement her meals in between feedings.

Called the vet that i take my dogs too. And he prescribed some albon antibiotic said to give her 3 drops a day. any suggestions on how to give the meds to her. im really afraid of hurting her... :?:

How strong is the Albon, do you know?
Though 3 drops is not much how much does your baby weigh?
Usually you can use a plastic dropper to give 3 drops just by dripping it onto the end of her nose, or you could mix it with some water or diluted apple or cranberry juice to mask the flavor.

I gave her the three drops. And she still isn't back to her self. I'm not sure how much she weighs. If I was guessing I'd say no more than two grams. Not sure what strength the albon is. But her color is coming back. She was staying dark like almost black in color now she looking like brown tan and even some orange spots on her back. But she still hasn't ate anything today. I took all crickets out but 1.

How is your baby doing?
The 3 drops may be too much then with the Albon. How long did the vet say to give the meds?
Do you have any probiotics such as acidophiliz or non dairy soy yogurt to give to her?
How is she acting tonight, is his beard dark or normal colored?
Be sure to take all of the crickets out so your baby doesn't get bitten by the cricket (s).

beard is normal color. she seems to be still week. what is probiotics. and where can i get it.. Im gonna try giving her some yogurt though. we live in a very little town. we only have one store and the nearest pet store or walmart is 30 miles away.

basking temp is 105 to 110 and cool side 85 to 90. is that basking temp to hot.

only give her SOY yogurt. beardies cant really handle dairy at all. Soy yogurt is a type of probiotic.
105 is probably the hottest you want on the basking surface temp--how are you taking the temP?

i have been giving her the albon like the vet said and giving her soy yogurt. it has been 3 days since we started giving her the medicine and there is no change.. Still acts lifeless. could it be stress.. I'm Really worried about her.. We haven't had her that long but we are attached to her already. Help How Can We Make Her Better..
