Ohhh, it's not your fault. My Semi bite off the tip of a syringe so I stopped using them. I use plastic disposable spoons when I want to to give my three liquids. They all love licking out of them. You can feed slurry also.

She is lucky to have you.

She was just excited about the yummy slurry, dolce it was a mistake and nothing more.
Im sure she will pass it just fine and i will pop her in my prayers tonight.

Tonight's x-rays showed the glass very clearly. It is very small so the size isn't a problem, but we don't know how sharp the piece that broke off actually is. The good news is that it has already made it's way through her stomach with no incident. (Hurray!) I was talking about how I should have known better than to use glass being in my field but I was half asleep when I fed her... and the vet said, heck I didn't think a beardie could bite through glass. So that made me feel better. He also said just keep doing what I'm doing.

Everyone there loved her. The vet said, she's so small and she was so well-behaved during everything I'll give $25 off the bill. 8) Also from the x-rays I found out that all that rotten impaction from stupidhead is pretty much cleared out! So he gave me some enemas to help finish that off and help pass the glass. And some dewormer because you KNOW stupidhead made sure she didn't have worms when he had her. :evil:

I will be on professional feces examination duty for the next 2-3 days. Doc said if the intestinal wall is punctured I will know by the signs: lethargy and loss of appetite. Great. Aren't those signs of recent abuse and brumation season?! *Sigh*

She really is gorgeous! I'm glad her impaction is just about cleared out, and I'm betting you'll see that syringe tip in no time. I've heard of lots of beardies swallowing syringe tips, but I don't recall any of them having problems. Have fun poking through poop! :lol:

Thanks for the update and the lovely photo.She really is quite a pretty little thing.It is good news that she passed the glass through her stomach I will pray for her that it goes the rest of the way smoothly.You are doing such a good jobe with her and as for the incident it was an easy error to make so please try not to beat yourself,ok? What meds did he give her for the parasites?

Let me just say that there is no feeling of degradation quite like being on your hands in knees in the bathroom leaning over a plastic bin with tweezers to poke through lizard crap. :shock: I love her a LOT ok. Still no glass yet.

Vicki, the doc gave me Albon for 10 days. And told me to try her on some more solid foods using good judgment. She took a couple of bites of butternut squash, then ignored it. So I had to pull out the baby food again. And instead of using a syringe, plastic or not, I'm not taking chances, I'm using my fingers. So don't be surprised if you here of me losing one. :shock:

I caught her being cute today. :love5:

Ok good I just wanted to make sure he gave you the right thing.Did he mention giving her a probiotic while she is on the meds?Some acidophilliz or benebac would be good.

What I did when I was having to sift through Ruebens poop was scooping it out of the bath with a plastic container, draining the liquid and then blasting it with the tap.
It breaks the poop to smitherines and will mean you dont have to use your hands quite so much

Also I really would try the spoon.
If I ever want Rueben to eat babyfood he will only take it from a metal spoon, not a plastic one, not a syringe, its the shiney spoon or nothing!

Thanks Holly I've just become accustomed to vet tech school style- poking around feces to know formation, color, length, weight, date of birth, social security number... you know. And a spoon worked really well on Koda (RIP) but Anastasia apparently likes to try to EAT everything that is not food so she just attacked it. :roll: Crazy dragon.

Anywho I have a small house so I have lots of mirrors on the walls in strategic places to make it look bigger. I'm starting to realize this is a very bad thing. I saw Harlee bobbing her head this morning when I had her out and discovered that she can see Stasia somehow. Can you imagine this tiny 16in cuddlebug with a mohawk (she's shedding) bobbing at fat tailwhipping 19in Stasia? She could eat her! Then I caught Daliz with a jet black beard looking in her direction. Nice welcoming guys. :roll:

This evenings bath I am really expecting to see it finally come out. Poor thing's been enema'ed to death and I got nothing this morning so I'm hoping...
